Can you buy out the Aussies? Seems like the Jap high water mark in Oz will make for light work for them now.

One thought about this particular theater of operations .. in my opinion, it is the Solomon's on steroids and I doubt if the IJ will make the mistake of real life not purusing/engaging like Leyte Gulf ....

Mostly agree. However, unlike the Solomons, there is an immediate strategic threat to JJ's SLOC. That makes this fight that much more important for both sides to have.
Just a thought ... Big risk vs. reward situation ..

Yes. There will be blood.

It's a good time for the Arries to do this, IMO. No kamikaze worries for 10 months means that they can secure the left shoulder of their Phillipines endeavour [sic] and cut off the DEI almost entirely from the home islands before then.

This would be more difficult an endeavour [sic] with kamikazes, that's certain. From what I understand they have a seemingly magnetic attraction to escort carriers, thereby mitigating CVE usage in this environment.

I absoutely agree with you. In my one and only AAR my entire focus was on Burma to end up in Saigon and to island hop to Davao to simply cut off the fuel supply from the DEI. My only comment was based on the Cap's aggressive plan in my view.

Thus I also agree .. this is the time in which CVE's can escort xAK's to defend against LBA .. but the SAG's also have to be accounted for as the IJ will go nuts to defend this very vulnerable area. My comments were based on maybe LBA will be a threat but expect lot's of night surface actions.

Can you do it with Vicky, Hermes and the three CVE's in the IO, plus PoW, Resolution and Colorado? I'm thinking use the full Aus I Corps and Br 18th at Ramree and really unhinge their position in Burma.

But we would need Br 2nd for Luzon as 32nd ID is bereft of infantry...or maybe use PP's and free a division from Hawaii.

Yep, I can do Ramree with that. JJ probably won't be paying too much attention to Burma by then. I also have 18th UK Div on their way. Should be a good rumble in the jungle.

You can have 2nd UK Div for Luzon. I think 32nd ID might need a lot of refitting before they are combat ready again.

--Good question. They wont' be able to land in Norhtern Lzuon or Manila so it would have to be SE Luzon. In that case it would have to be Wasp, Yorktown and 3 BB's. I was hoping they would run out of troops.

I'll leave that one up to you. But I think we've knocked quite a few LYBs on the head already.

The boys from Wyndham are pretty fired up and ready to go.

On that note, just how many LYBs are touring POW Camp NOz now? Don't you have something like 30K looking for manna in the wilderness?

Way more than 30K. At least 50K are now undead at Port Hedrand. More at Wyndham and maybe 15-20K South of Darwin. At least 10K future undead at Broome. There are 1 1/2 divisions trapped on Dobo.

If you need to spend PPs go ahead, I don't need any for the foreseeable future.

Air losses from the 24th. Looks like the Kitchen Sink Air Force of Assam bested the Shinto Boys.

Satisfyingly, none of the 17's were downed over Kopeang. They may have shot a couple of Tojos. It looks like, from ground losses, there are Ann's at Palau. Not much of a threat to the Sulu Sea

My white elephant gift from the party is a talking doll. You press her hand and she says things like..."I'm bored. Let's shave my *****"

I tried to get someone to take it from me but no takers. I am pretty sure it will escape its packaging one night and stab me in the heart....or worse. Creepy as Hell.

No disrobing at the party (of which I am aware). There was plenty of deep fried calamari (5 golden rings) and some dericious baked pears stuffed with blue cheese and walnuts. These things were fantastic, I tell you. I ate three. [:)]

Pocahantas Girl made a big pitcher of Stoli and cranberry juice and her son put Louisiana hot sauce in it either as a joke or to get even for making him go over to dad's house. The hard cores drank it anyway.

PG's new boytoy is a a police officer. Nice guy but he kept ruining everyone's sobriety test stories by taking the law enforcement side. Even so, someone backed over the neighbor's mailbox when they left.

I had to escort SG across the street so she didn't get a WWI.

ETA: [edited to ameliorate persnicky editors] Don't you have alternative uses for your political points, my good sir? Aren't some of your Indian divisions ripe for 'buying out'?

[:D] What a perfect gift! Considering the occasion, of course. Where does one even FIND such a talking doll.

Wait! On second thought, I'd rather not know...

So SG and I are out getting a Winter Holiday Tree yesterday. I insist on this 9 foot beast with a ten inch trunk. We're at Lowes so the customer service is crappy. We decide to load into onto the pick-up ourselves. I am carrying the heavy end with one hand so I can walk forward. We get to the truck and I perceive that there is no way I am am gong to get enough clearance over the truck bed with one hand to get the thing onto the bed. I am holding a branch on top of the trunk and it has to be probably 6 ft up so the bottom branches can clear. I pause for 3 ms to get ready to climb up on the bed......
