Android Games
I've just moved from the iPhone to a Galaxy Note mainly to get the larger screen.
So does anyone know a place to get a comprehensive list of WARgames which will play on this phone? I'm looking for strategy games, not first person shooters or glitzed-up clones of Mario Brothers. I've found "Conflict Barbarossa" and the USA Civil War by Joni Nuutinen which gives me hope. The Google App store is crowded with stuff that I have no interest in and there doesn't seem an easy way to filter out the thousands of irrelevant downloads so I can see just the wargames.
Does Matrix provide a consolidated list of all their games for the Android platform?

It seems to me that the IPad gets all the wargaming goodness..which is a shame as they cost so damn much compared to the android tablets etc..

RE: Android Games
Android's biggest issues are lack of a single, simple-to-use store, and archaic development tools. But we're still hoping to be able to bring some games to it in the near future. Not sure what, if any, of the current catalogue is Android friendly. There is Conquest I think, and Great Battles Medieval has an Android version, although it is aimed more at more powerful tablet devices.

Pip you have the Google Nexus which is a great and powerful small screen tablet....just as powerful as an IPad..
RE: Android Games
Actually, there are currently more wargames available for Android as for iOS, but one has to dig for finding them. Google is your friend.

Android's biggest issues are lack of a single, simple-to-use store,
I have no problems with Google Play store at all, also a Samsung Store (there was free stuff that had come with my older S2 phone and recently Note 10.1 purchases) and recently added the Amazon store and got CM:Touch there (also cause of a daily App for free there ...well not every day is a highlight so)

I have most if not all of the DK wargames and while you will not be overwhelmed by the graphics, and have a sense of sameness of each game, you will be entertained enough for your $3.
Search Google Play Game Section for the following titles which I have and enjoy....
European War 3
European War
Levee En Masse
American Revolutionary War
American Civil War
Panzer Missions

RE: Android Games
For the more savvy customer having options is great. But for the majority the step of having to sign up for a new store, enter CC details, etc is a huge source of friction on the purchase process. There is a reason lots of people will "only buy from..." Steam or Amazon etc, because they are already invested in those stores and just want the convenience.ORIGINAL: MikeGER

I will say that it does seem to be improving though, and as I say, we do have games on Android so it's not a deal breaker. But it's definitely one reason why the i's get more attention from developers (dev tools and compat issues being the other main ones).

Any estimate on when Battlefield Academy will be ready?

RE: Android Games
We're not looking at BA for Android right now as the results of the initial android releases were disappointing and the sales levels don't justify development at this time. That will probably change as things mature so we will keep our eye on it but currently iOS sales are much higher and games are cheaper to develop for it as they have standard screen sizes and hardware so it just makes more sense right now. We'd struggle to break even on Android.

The initial Android releases don't look interesting, that's why I didn't buy them... Battlefield Academy I bought for PC.. I enjoyed, but it was a lil light, but would be perfect for the tablet.. I think you would have more 'interest' in a game like that.
Android market is picking up pace.. I know it's a tough platform because of all the different hardware.. but so was Windows... When the PC wars started back in the late 80's... Dos/Windows environment allowed competition between hardware vendors.. and they won the PC battle, even though their product sucked compared to MACs..
Same thing is happening all over again.. so the Android market will only get bigger..

That's my thought exactly with the two titles that did get released for Android. Bought them to support Slitherine but not really very interesting games at all.
Noticed that recently John Tiller released a couple of the Panzer Campaigns games and two of the Civil War Campaigns titles for Android and IOS and they work great on my Nexus. If you looking for a couple games they are on the Google store.
