Does anyone else have a wife that annoys the complete shit out of them?
I guess me not taking off two entire weeks for the holidays makes me a horrible spouse and father, as she put it.

Wouldnt that kind of accusation make you want to stay at work more? [&:]

I remember Lake Louise in Canada, where you take Ptarmigan, Paradise or Summit, and freeze your boo-tocks going up. But then you get down to Larch or Base, and your suit jacket top is off and tied around your waist and you are sweating.ORIGINAL: GrollubSkiing up there is excellent and is done in lighted ski slopes. Many find the darkness and the cold very exotic. As for the "Elchpark", it's closed during winter. Otherwise, we have quite an influx of tourists in the northern parts of Sweden during summer. Mostly Germans, Dutch and French.ORIGINAL: HistorikerSkiing? Up there? Alps to far away and too much daytime? But well... you never know...ORIGINAL: Grollub
Yes, I overheard some germans as well as a small group of french people at breakfast. I think they're here mostly for the skiing. Otherwise, the largest group of foreigners is the chinese, but I guess they're to look at the mining operations.
I rather ment because of "Elchpark". Doesn't exactly sound swedish, no? [;)]
As for those Germans at the hotel, they could also have been car testers. Most of Europes larger car manufacturers winter test their new models in northern Sweden or Finland. This particular group were wearing all the usual ski apparel though, so I assumed they were there for the skiing.
Amazing what the human body can be conditioned to think of as normal. Also amazing is how breeze informs your experience of temperature.
Ciao. JWE

Blimey mate, that's harsh.
Now for all I know, you may actually be a horrible spouse and father. But not taking a full two weeks for the holidays does not make you one.

Well, I'm sorry to hear that. There's got to be some Hertz in all wireless communications though, doesn't there?

I finished watching a solid mass turn into vapor. The experience was sublime.
