1945 scenario beta version

Strategic War in Europe is a grand strategy game where you command one or more of the 25 countries in the game. War, diplomacy, technological progress, recruitment, conquest – this is all in your hands. There are no restrictions to the actions you can perform during your turn: unit movement, purchase, attack, technology investment, reinforcement, all of those can be done at any moment during the turn.

1945 scenario beta version

Post by doomtrader »

Hi,

The beta version of 1945 scenario is available to download:
http://www2.wastelands-interactive.com/shared/1945.zip

You have to unzip it to the:
Strategic War in Europe\data\scenarios\
folder.

Please remember that you need 1.06 patch to play it.

All your comments are welcome.

Playing with the Matrix version of the 1.06 patch: won't let me play as the allies. Get a message that says "This alliance isn't participating in the scenario. Choose another one."

DBG Warning Error

Post by Omnius »

I got to the third turn of the 1945 scenario as the Allies and have seen that there is some kind of error being made by the program in creating an invalid unit.

After the second turn processes I get a DBG Warning which is:

"DBGINF: Unknown unit type (99) for unit 27 Uknown (ID=135)"

I looked at the unit in OpenOffice and it is from Country 77, with a location of "-1, -1" . On the 4th turn I get a new unit ID=139 that does the same thing.

I first thought it was a fatal crash the other day and deleted the saved game file. What happens is that when you try to load the saved game file you get the progress bar moving about 15%-20% along before there is an audible "boing" sound that stops the progress bar. When I Ctrl-Alt-Del I can then access the Windows Task Manager. I found that if I just end the task of the DBG Warning I can then restart the program and it goes into the saved game fine. So thankfully there is a fix to work around this annoying DBG booboo.

I do have saved game files if needed. I hope this annoyance can be fixed soon. I'm now going to go back and enjoy playing the 1945 scenario as the Allies.

Webizen, this was an exe issue, so this will be fixed with next version

Omnius, we have spotted the same issue and working on it.

I'm hoping to have next version ready next week.
