4/17/42 Singapore falls with surrender of all forces. They were flat out of supply for over 3 weeks, but Raiden just kept bombing and bombing.

4/21/42 Raiden has parked a substantial force at Noumea for quite some time, but has yet to assault. The KB appears to be leaving but I doubt for long. I expect something to happen here soon.

Raiden's home is apparently overrun with relatives (the horror!) there for the holidays, so our pace has slowed to one turn per day.

Here's something I've been sitting on since the first week of February. I think it's safe to show it now. Raiden had his KB covering a landing at Koumac and decided to send it a bit to the south of New Caledonia, where it encountered a large convoy of empty ships (of mixed types, if I recall correctly) headed to the West Coast. It sank quite a few of them but let the rest continue on without pursuit. I had quite a bit of stuff at Aukland at the time, and thought about evacuation in case he came further south. I only pulled the most valuable ships (warships) but left a lot of other ships there. The next day he had moved closer to NZ so I ordered a complete evacuation, grouping ships in TFs according to their max speeds. The following two screen shots show the situation on the next day and the day after that.

I think I know what you're referring to, and I would agree, if I were human. You must remember though, that we Gorn have no anuses. We simply recycle the same old s*** over and over again.

Some of you may have found that to be humorous. I have delved deep into the many philosophies of this world, both past and present. I have understood the subtleties of Hegel's Phenomenology, I have removed the pollutants from Kant's Critique of Pure Reason, I have tested the theorems of Virgilius'es Georgics, but I have yet to answer the central question of "What would I do without me?" The very Earth hangs in the balance to that question.

At that time I saw maybe 3 of the fleeing TF's, and thought there might be others, but unlike reality, my digital samurai follow orders, and covered the landing.  I was more worried about a SCTF raid on the landings than sinking some more of the infinite allied transports.  Today Batavia falls, Soerabaja and Noumea are left, with Darwin coming under attack in the next few days.

Under the smileys on the left of the text box, there is a little line that says "more smileys.." It doesn't look like hypertext but it is; when you click on it it brings up a screenful of alternate smileys. Selecting any of them puts them where your cursor last was in the text box. I see. This is my outlook on the world. No, wait, this is. No, let me collect myself. Life is a veil of tears. Oh, what the heck, I can't keep track of whatever it is I'm supposed to be pontificating about, let's just settle on this as an example of my self awareness.

Yes, I know the reference is to a "vale of tears", but 'veil of tears' speaks to me of subjective perception without which there is no anything.

4/30/42 Raiden has now assaulted Noumea for the first time. The results follow. I don't know what all he has up his sleeves, but I expect this to be interesting. The overlapping green and red ship icons at Noumea are some of my subs and one of his.

5/2/42 Japanese at Noumea merely bombard the past couple of days, can't say I blame them. The KB has appeared North of New Caledonia, can a fresh landing force be far away?

Nice job by the lizards hitting KB in bad weather off Noumea.  Midway!  My only complaint is the piss poor performance of the kates and vals, hardly scoring any hits, while being the absolute best pilots in the IJN.  So goes the RNG.[:@]

5/3/42 Carrier battle! On 5/2 my searchplanes had spotted the KB north of New Caledonia. To the best of my knowledge, Raiden had not spotted me. I put my CVs where I thought best and began biting my scales. Here is the screen shot from after the battle, which is pretty much where things were when the battle started.
