Situation in Thailand
As you can see we are being pushed back over the mountains.

We have a strong block, 1000 AV in level 2 forts in Jungle rough protecting the Raeheng Uttradit line from being outflanked.

Bangkok and Ayuthia are both level 4 forts with 1100 AV in them.

Am about to pull out the good Japanese forces at Uttrradit, leaving mostly Thais and one Japanese unit to hold the line there.

The evacuation of fragments and unneeded BF units etc is going well via Udon Thani.

We have air evacuated most of the Andamans now pulling out close to a div of troops.

Sumatra /Malaya
Central Malaya is largely empty now. Holding a few bases outside of Singapore to stop any para landings while the last of the troop movements occur.

Keeping troops at Georgetown for the moment as a Betty unit is about to arrive. May stay there to try and deny its easy use to the Allies.

On Sumatra our defence in the north near Langsa is about to collapse. We're pulling troops out frantically while we can.

In the south we intend to try a raid on the offshore island that supports the P-47 sweeps of Palembang...

Over Palembang we put the Franks on low level CAP (6000) and have the Zero's in the next base over at 31k, LRCAP the 1 hex.

It appears the Jugs come in, detect the Frank and drop to attack. The the Zero from the next base over get the jump on the Jugs at an altitude that the Zero's can handle. Very happy with 1:1 losses. We claim around 40 Jugs all up.

Pulling stuff out of Rabaul and surrounds. This area is now almost irrelevent.


The evacuation of central Thailand is going fairly smoothely, just about down to the rear guards now... that still means about 3 Japanese Divs plus the Thai's. Bangkok and Ayuthia are now over 1000 AV and heading towards level 5 forts.

Singapore is also at 1000 AV and almost level 6 forts. Another 500 AV is headed this way. There are about 50k of supplies, 40k resources and 10k fuel so the HI and LI will keep producing for some time.

In China have pulled back about 1000AV in Armour and an Inf Div into reserve.

On the China / Burma border we have succesfully fallen back one hex closer to Paoshan, which has freeded up an intact Southern Army Div to follow the stream of support and arty units that have already made or are on the long march back through central China to the China / Vietnam border.



Have turned off more HI, turned on all the armements and we are still generating a mild surplus. We have 1.45M HI points, enough for about four months of full production, in the bank... should be just enough.

With the shut down of HI fuel has slowly climbed to 97 days, resources to 200 days. Convoys are being shut down even further.

Supply is around 700k in the home islands, which has been stable while shipping out 60k a week to China and supplying a few other areas.


We are paying for the largesse of our air production and ship movements we made in late 42 and 43 now.

I now put your AAR near the top of my must read daily. Need to learn from your what I can to use in mine. Thankfully, we did the PWHEX change in early '43 so we have stacking limits and will not need to face the "Allied Death Star." I'm still in northern Burma and have just lost Port Hedland, so i'm ahead of you. The Allies lost some CV/CVEs in early '43 that put the Allied counter attacks behind schedule.

During this period there are three key areas that saw action.

Thailand
In Thailand all of our forces from Moulmein have either been destroyed (and now bought out) or retreated to Bangkok (the divs). The badly damaged units have now railed out on their way to refit on the Chinese / Vietnam border.

Andrew has now "flowed around" our defensive positions around Bangkok cutting the rail line to central Burma stranding about 4 Japanese divs and three Thais in central burma, as planned. These forces are begining to slowely withdraw east.

We have just about fully evacuated the Andaman Islands and are now working or Mergui on the coast

Saigon now has about 350 AV.

21-25 Apr 1944
In Sumatra Andrew has trapped our forces around Meden. We are evacuating the rest as quickly as we can. The badly damaged units being pulled back to Manila to rebuild, the moderatly damaged pulled back into Singapore.

Singapore is now in a good state of defence with decent levels of fuel, resurces and about 60k in supplies. 1600AV behind level 6 forts in Urban should be a challange....

Palembang
We have fought several large airbattles over Palembang. Generally we are loosing fighters at a 1.5-2 against rate, which is acceptable. The B24 and B29 raids are getting through to the oil though and only about 1/3 remain. We are still pulling out fuel and oil though, maybe as much as 200k of fuel.

21-25 Apr 1944 - East DEI

Java
Andrew launched a raid using his CV's against Java. In the processed he destoyed about 1/3rd of the oil at Sorebaya and sank some E and CM at Batavia, but lost 20% of his strike to our fighters. We tried strikes with TB and LB but were unable to break through the CAP. We have a 4CV KB sitting behind Java looking for a decent oportunity. KB will be reinfocred with another CV in abouy 7 days and another in about 30 Days that are repairing at Manila.


Timor
After several large fighter sweeps where we did OK his 4E flattened the airbase at Dili Otherwise the East DEI area is quiet as he prepares his forces for the next invasion target...

General
We are pulling troops out of Rabaul and the SWPAC and sending to Babeldoab, Manado, Davao and Balikpapan. Ground troops are still light on, a fair few units will be arriving over the next month or so...

We continue to probe and push in China, we have forced him out into the open where our bombers are inflicting around 1000 casulties a turn, despite light CAP from Spitfires and Corsairs.

We succesfully forced him back away from the rail / river line north of Sian

We have pulled back teh bulk of the armour to form a reserve, probably to be deployed on the China / Vietnam border. Hope to pull out some other units for there soon as well.

We continue to repair the oil under figter cover. A lack of airbase units is a real problem, moving in AA from Korea.
