Only able to launch game through Autorun.exe

I'm experiencing an issue where I'm only able to successfully launch the game with autorun.exe. If I attempt to launch DistantWorlds.exe directly I receive the following windows error messages:

Distant Worlds has stopped working.

Is this expected behaviour, and if so, is there anyway to change it?

Hello Wipqozn;

Right click on the Distantworlds.exe file and select "Run as Administrator"
Hopefully that will solve your issue. If not, please post back and also
