SOUTHERN ARMY (Burma-Java-Ambon)

Enemy sitrep:
Major naval operation continue at Port Blair. Ground units increase from 8 to 10.
Large number of enemy troops on the move toward Palembang.
PT-boats abandon Oosthaven.

Current op:
TORA SAKUSEN: D+1: GEN Yamashita reports (see 25th ARMY SITREP below) that 25th ARMY (IGD, 5th, 18th and 56th Divisions) has pushed back the enemy (9th Indian Division). Palembang should fall in the next 24 hours. 3rd AIR DIVISION will support the final attack with 150+ bombers. Around 50 of those will attack advancing enemy troops to the southwest of Palembang. SOUTHERN FLEET will provide shore bombardments with two suiraisentai (CL + DD).
16th ARMY will launch the attack on Surabaya tomorrow. Ony a weak enemy costal artillery unit is left in Surabaya area.

The 25th Army was sucessfully landed 19 february at Palembang. On the 20 february the first attack was launched against the main enemy position. The enemy was pushed back. The main attack will be launched tomorrow, on the 21 february. All reserves will be committed IOT take control of the Palembang area before enemy reinforcements arrive.

SOUTHERN ARMY (Burma-Java-Ambon)

Enemy sitrep:
Major naval operation continue at Port Blair. CL Ceres hit by one torpedo from I-154.

Current op:
TORA SAKUSEN: D+2: GEN Yamashita reports (see 25th ARMY SITREP below) that 25th ARMY is in control of Palembang after a major battle. However, the enemy has destroyed the oil field and the refinery. SOUTHERN ARMY has tasked 25th ARMY to ensure that the secondary oil field north of Palembang is captured intact. Additional engineer units have been ordered to Palembang IOT begin immediate repair of primarely the refinery facility.
3rd AIR DIVISION reports own and enemy air losses to about 20 aircraft each in Southern Sumatra.
Surabaya has been captured. Oil and fuel producing facilities are 66% operational.
Base Commanders at Medan and Balikpapan reports 100% operational oil and fuel facilities.
Ambon landing operation has been activated (SOUTHERN ARMY: 1+ Division, 16th ARMY: 1 Regiment).
Timor landing operation has been activated (SOUTHERN ARMY: 1+ Division).

The enemy is trying to extract 150 000 troops south of Henyang. There is a window of opportunity to break into the Henyeng-Changsha central position.

SOUTHERN ARMY (Burma-Java-Ambon)

Enemy sitrep:
Submarine concentration in Macassar-Kendari-Ambon area - most likely hunting for KB1.
Ships (PTs?) at Cocos island and DDs (ASW) west of Cocos island.
Oosthaven is being evacuated - only about six ground units left.

Current op:
TORA SAKUSEN: D+3: 25th ARMY continues to advance to the northwest toward the secondary oilfield, where about 30 fighters and five ground units are located. Oosthaven airfield and port was destroyed by bombardment by four battleships (1st and 2nd senkansentai).
Ambon landing operation: Task force 'North' is moving into position (21st Division), Task Force 'South' will be ready in 48 H.
Timor landing operation: the landing will commence in 24H on eastern Timor. KB1 (-) is in support.

Current op:
HOKUSHIN SAKUSEN: 1st ARMY and North China Army are pivoting north toward Yenan. North China Army has successfully moved part of a tank brigade across in the eastern sector. As soon as the entire brigade has crossed (ETA is 48 H) a major attack will be launched. In the western sector, the 1st ARMY's 41st Division crushed the minor 40th Corps and has taken control of the road. The 41st Division will pivot the the west toward Sian and interdict enemy reinforcements on the open plains northeast of Sian. Air support will be provided.

RYUUOU SAKUSEN: 13th ARMY ordered to invest Henyeng-Changsha central position IOT block attempt to concentrate withdrawing enemy units. 11th ARMY has successfully moved a second division into Siangtan. As soon as a third division is across a full attack will be launched (ETA is 48 H).

Planned op:
SIAN follow up. GHQ D&G: the priority is to take control of all Chinese oil facilities.

CL Leander and two DDs spotted NW Cocos Island.
Several APDs spotted west Sumatra heading toward Sumatra.
Major naval operation ongoing around Port Blair.
Tanker convoy transiting south Horn Island, heading west toward Darwin.

Current op:
TORA SAKUSEN: D+4: 25th ARMY continues to advance toward the secondary oilfield.
Ambon landing operation: Task force 'North' is moving into position (21st Division), Task Force 'South' will be ready in 48H (24H delayed due to need to load additional units at Namlea). KB1 (-) is in support.
Timor landing operation: the landing succeded at Dili on eastern Timor. No enemy activity.
4th Division embarking at Manilla, ordered to support 25th Army in Sumatra. Preliminary order is to conduct a landing at Oosthaven.

Enemy convoy spotted WNW Palmyra island (9 hexes NW of KB2).
Suspected convoy east of Hilo.

Current op:
Palmyra and Xmas island was bombarded by battleships (Hiei and Kirishima). On Palmyra at least one B-17D (used for naval search?) was destroyed. Xmas island is defended by enemy coastal artillery regiment.
KB2 continue the operation to hunt enemy convoys.
NEW: 14th ARMY operation I: landing at Palmyra & Xmas island has been activated today: 14th Division is embarking at Manilla.

SOUTHERN ARMY (Burma-Java-Ambon)

Enemy sitrep:
Major naval operation ongoing around Port Blair.
ASW TF (DD Nizam and Norman) spotted west of Cocos Island. DD Nizam was hit by one torpedo from I-16 and is reported to be severely damaged.
Enemy tries to concentrate ground forces to Djambi on Sumatra.

Current op:
TORA SAKUSEN: D+7: 5th Division will tomorrow attack the forward defence line (5/14th Punjab Battalion ) south of Djambi. Southwest of Djambi two dutch recce battalions were forced to retreat. Enemy fighter aircraft sweept Palembang. Seven Ki-43s lost. Enemy losses are at least four aircraft and several damaged.
Ambon landing operation: the landing was successfull. CL Kitakami and a few other ships were damaged by coastal artillery. A ground attack will be launched tomorrow by 21st division (+).
KB1 (-) is still undetected and is in position to intercept suspected enemy tanker convoy east of Darwin.
Timor landing operation: NIL.
Cocos island is to be bombarded by battleships (dai-1 & dai-2 Senkansentai) IOT prepare for planned op.

In the rear sector, two regiments from the Mongolia Army will take over garrison duties and relieve two Brigades from North China Army.

SOUTHERN ARMY (Burma-Java-Ambon)

Enemy sitrep:
Naval activity around Port Blair.
Supply convoy unloading at Cocos island (see below).
Suspected respply mission west Sumatra (2 xAK spotted two hexes NV Padang).
Force concentration at Djambi (18th British Division and 11th Indian Division).

Current op:
TORA SAKUSEN: D+10: Djambi will be subjected to artillery bombardments untill the arrival of 4th Division (in one week). 11th Air Fleet and 3rd Air Division will make a joint effort to stop enemy resupply mission west Sumatra.
The 1st Torpedodivision (CL Natori, 2 DD 1 TB) attacked enemy shipping at Cocos island and sank 10 ships (7 xAK, 2 AM, 1 HDML) and damaged 1 ADP and 2 PT-boats. The first naval bombardment of Cocos island will take place during the next 24H.
Timor landing operation: Koepang was subjected to a naval bombardment. Embarkation of the Koepang landing force will begin in 72H.

HOKUSHIN SAKUSEN: 1st Army and North China Army are on the move against Sian.
RYUUOU SAKUSEN: 13th Army will defend while 11th Army will attack.

Planned op:
SIAN follow up. GHQ D&G: the priority is to take control of all Chinese oil facilities.



4th FLEET (Central Pacific)

Enemy sitrep:
NIL.

Current op:
KB2 will refuel and rearm.
14th ARMY operation I: landing at Palmyra & Xmas island: various TGs are underway. 4th Fleet is providing CA/DD escorts. Several tankers (from Balkipapan, Tarakan and Singapore) will resupply fuel.

SOUTHEAST AREA FLEET (New Guinea - South Pacific)

Current op:
One submarine, I-121, sank due to hitting several enemy mines at Port Moresby.

Thanks Graf,

Yeah, it will be interesting to see when my opponent commits his carriers again. I suspect three areas in the near future where he is making an effort:

Around Port Blair
Around Cocos island
Around Port Moresby - Horn island

There are also suspected movements in the central Pacific (east of Kwajalein).

The "new" CV Junyo (my fav carrier btw) will arrive in 72H. CV Kaga will finish repairs in about two weeks.
