I assume your goal is to estabilish a good defensive front line on the (big) rivers. Is that so?

Wow, how many routed. When I open my turn there is 1/4 or 1/3 of that number still routed, so I don't see such dramatic effect :) 3 Corps per hex is only for "Tank" armies, as I like to keep troops from the same army together (because otherwise there is a strength penalty in combat). Regular armies are mostly 7 divs + cav/tank corps or 8 divs + 2 tank brigades, that's why it's 3 divs or 2 divs + corps per hex. My troops build forts very slowly, so once I have some forts I won't garrison them with a single division - waste of good fort :)

I wouldn't be putting those tank corps right up front as Morvael is doing...well that's just me.
They need a quite a bit of time away from bad combat ( losing battles ) to train up to their morale, and facing superior enemy formations ( Germans ) is not a good setup.

They need a quite a bit of time away from bad combat ( losing battles ) to train up to their morale, and facing superior enemy formations ( Germans ) is not a good setup.

I see this in other way. I need to keep my front strong. Tank Corps go to worst gaps (no fort or level 1) since they have highest CV of units available to me (5-7 versus 4-5 of Cav Corps and 2-3 of Rifle Divs). In this AP constrained world, I have not spent 400 APs to build units that will spend their time in the rear (and since I have total lack of AP I don't build Rifle Corps for now, since in the future they might be cheaper, unless an emergency happens - as did a turn ago). And the tank casualties are a joke, I have 7000 tanks in the pool and 9500 in the line. This just helps me to burn through all those old KV and T-34 models that have been already paid for. And their experience is not that bad, by combat they see an increase of exp. Sure, worst battered ones are taken to the rear and replaced by those from the quiet sectors (now I'm organizing 2nd and 3rd Tank Army). Currently 6 Tank Corps are under 50 morale, 14 have 50+ (50 is now their base morale since Sept. 42).
