I do not play the allies and it is strange to see Mig 3s here. [:D]

I have seen a number of American squadrons made up of Russian planes in games against the AI. I am not sure why that happens.

That's not just fog of war, that's a full on pea-souper of war there.

Bloody Marines, steal anything no bolted down!!

I have never seen FOW report such misinformation.

If the Chinese get them its very late war!!

Have you managed to activate the Soviets and somehow this put the Mig3 into the pools. (Or maybe this makes them an eligble item for FOW?) While 3 aircraft types defend, only 2 Sqns scramble.

Are you playing a mod where someone has got the slot wrong?

PBEM?, ask your opponent.

AI?, cheat and look at the Allied side.

Nothing to do with FOW. For some reason AI get russian planes. For example I've seen dutch units using IL-2s. When I first saw it, I checked AI's side. Several dutch units had IL-2.

No FOW. I have seen it a few times in 1942 in games against an Allied AI. I checked the Allied side and found the Russian planes in the air group. This would have never happened in the war. Too bad more time was not spend on an Allied AI.

This looks like it might be a bug. michaelm probably should take a look at it. It would help him a lot if he had a save from before it happened, though with this particular problem that would be tough. You don't know when the Marines started drawing from the Russian pool. If you have a a save from very early in the game, that might be the best you can do with this one.

In any case, he should be made aware of it. I think he only checks the tech support forum these days, so you should post about this there.

Kind of refreshing to see the Russians supplying the lend-lease equipment for a change. [:D]

I was screwing around with an AI vs. AI Ironman Nasty match and lo and behold, a USAAF bombardment squadron was flying Audaxes (sp?) in August 1942. Was that intentional, Andy?

I'm suspicious that what you are all seeing is perhaps the result of the game enhancement which allows a nation, when it is out of appropriate planes in its national pool, to acquire planes from another nation. Could well be that the built in safeguards applicable to human players have not been extended to the AI.
