keeps crashing

I just bought the game Starships Unlimited and installed it to my Computer I was playing the game for some time and at one point in the game the whole game crashed so I try to play it again, it played for a while but not to long and then the game crashed again whats wrong why is it doing that?:mad:

What version are you running? It's shown at the top-right of the intro screen. Are you able to resume the game using the autosave file? What kind of system do you have?

My version is 2.0 and my system is a Pent. III 500 with Windows 98 and yes I started with the Autosave and also with the one I saved.

game minimizes at startup
When I hit play game on the launch menu the game starts and goes through the opening movies. Then right when one would expect the main menu to appear the game minimizes, and if I make it active again immeadiately minimizes again. So I went to look in the readme file to see if this problem is mentioned and am told there is no readme...This is really frustrating as I have a standard fast system (2.2) with the lastest equipment drivers etc. and have not run into any problems like this in years. I am the type who does not let production values affect my opinion of a game if it has good gameplay, but being unable to even play it at all sure does make one wary of non-standard publishers/developers...

Will someone please tell me if this is a common problem or not, and if it is how to fix it. As you can tell I am new to the game so it might be something really stupid, but I have already tried the easy things like latest drivers and tried loading with every resolution from 800X600 to 1600X1200...

And yes I have version 2.0

Sounds like a problem with some of the Matrix Games added stuff and not the game itself. Don't run the game from the Matrix induced menu. You can run it seperately. If you get the menu popping up automatically when you install the CD, just close the menu.

If this still causes a problem after the movies run, try removing the movies in the Movies subfolder of the game (*.avi). You can move them to a temporary subfolder. This will cause the game to run immediately. You can view the movies using your movie viewer at your convenience.

If the game is crashing while playing a game. Go to the Games subfolder and email the savegame.sav file as an attachment to support@apezone.com and I'll take a look.

can't launch game i can get into everything but the game i go to hit play and it freezes i hear the cd turn on but nothing i down loaded the sudgv20.zip patch and still nothing????:mad: don't know what i have to do
