occupying victory hex sound

Post by fulcrum28 »

when you occupy or conque an hex, a sound(soliders shouting) is played. Im tired of the same sound, I would prefer a sound of tanks advancing for example or nothing. does someone else deal with it? is it not a problem for other players?

Here as well, the solution:

Locate the .WAV file in the SOUND folder and change it. And no, only you will be able to hear the new sound.

Tip:

To make it a tad easier for me/us, list all your questions in one Post, easier and faster to answer and you have all the info on one side, aye?

I thought these were the OGG files in the 'Sound' TOAW sub-directory, specifically 'advance.ogg' (click x2 to play it). You can substitute your own for it/them (I'd recommend saving the old sound(s) first). See http://www.fileinfo.com/extension/ogg

Alternatively you can set Sound Effects=Off and Background=<Your Choice> using TOAW's menu.

Try a search in the Game Manual and What's New doc to see what's out there. Interested in hearing what you conclude/try/opt for.

Ja, the .OGG, but you can use .WAV and rename them to .OGG; sorry, my fault. That normally works.

This. [:)]

Now we're at it:

Has anyone heard the cavalry1.ogg and cavalry2.ogg effects, in game?

I always get the foot or truck sounds for my 100% cavalry units. I've tried with different combinations in eqp file (horse, fast horse and shock cavalry) and can't get those sounds to play.

Silly question but...

I changed advanced.ogg by heavry_Armour. I renamed old advanced.ogg as _advanced.ogg. but somehow i still hear the human shouts after conquering an hex

Double click in the original Advance.ogg to hear if it's really the sound you want to change and check the spelling.

"advance.ogg" in "Sound" folder should be the file you're looking for.

If the scenario you're playing has an "advance.ogg" in its folder under "graphics" you have to change that one.

What's the problem lads?

Rename your advance.ogg to advance.bak. Copy down the attached file into your TOAW Sound directory- unzip it and you have a new advance.ogg (renamed from a wav file- you can even use the ones in your windows\media directory).

Set up an attack- say Arracourt 44 with every German unit you can get your hands on against 8,10. Execute. Hopefully advance and voila...

Find another wav to suit your taste and substitute...
