Zero rail capacity? What happened?

Post by joel9507_slith »

Playing an email game as Axis. Not sure why, but for some reason the most recent turn fired up and I have zero rail capacity. This is odd as ordinarily I get about 8K-12K a turn.

I have been using it up as it becomes available, so ended the last turn at zero. Fire up today's battle and - nothing. I've done OK, mid 1942 and have Leningrad and more-or-less everything south of it. Big battle is on the Dneiper bend just now. So there are plenty of railyards producing strategic transportation.

Anyway, I didn't do anything different - haven't lost any territory - and one would think whatever rail capacity elves made me 8K last week would have kept on doing so.

If anyone has any ideas on what might have happened, I'd appreciate any thoughts.

It might be that you didn't de-train what you moved by train last turn - if units are still entrained from a previous turn, they continue to use up the transport capacity until the turn after you de-train them.

Thanks for the fast reply. That must be it. I'd taken a full load of units as far as they could go and didn't have enough strategic movement points to de-train them....didn't know it soaked up the next turn's capacity. Live and learn!

Thanks again!

Axis should have ~30k rail points per turn so you must indeed have a lot of stuff loaded on trains every turn.
