Which CC should i buy?

Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem is a highly enhanced new release of Close Combat, using the latest Close Combat engine with many additional improvements. Its design is based on the critically acclaimed Close Combat – A Bridge Too Far, originally developed by Atomic Games, as well as the more recent Close Combat: The Longest Day. This is the most ambitious and most improved of the new Close Combat releases, but along with all the enhancements it retains the same addicting tactical action found in the original titles! Close Combat – Last Stand Arnhem comes with expanded force pools, reserve & static battlegroups, a troop point buying system, ferry and assault crossings, destructible bridges, static forces and much more! Also included in this rebuild are 60+ battles, operations and campaigns including a new enhanced Grand Campaign!

Which CC should i buy?

Post by revalry »

Hi gents,

Im coming back to CC. Which CC is the best for online gaming? I have all the originals but want to get some of the new releases. Bought Panthers in the Fog, but little online action. Any info would be great.

Thanks

Need to fish around for a game on the forums, then arrange a meeting time in the lobby for PitF. You could try the cc series site (currently OTC at time of posting--mystery to me), or the Matrix PitF forum. Sadly, most people don't play H2H, where the game transcends.

As for "best", that's an open-ended matter of opinion and general preference. The last few iterations--from WAR to tLD, to LSA, all performed similarly. Currently tLD has the most mods. All work with Gameranger, unless you have a mod that changes the main screen--a stupid situation unless they fixed it on the Gameranger end.

Thanks for the help. I bought TLD. I have the original CC5, but want to get modern. I have not heard of Gameranger. Thanks. Is this a hub for online gaming?

Yes, Gameranger is used by a fair number of CC players for finding someone to play online....
