Me - "How much do you think you're worth to this company, and what you could bring to it if we bring you on?"
Trader - "I would be able to bring a sizable portion of my current deck I believe. Of the 6 to $700,000 deck, I could see myself bringing $500,000 of that by a couple of years. I think I am worth about 3 to $400,000 of that"
Me - "We're not the New York Yankees son....think more of the KC Royals"
Trader - "I would like to make more than 5 figures a year, sir"
Me - "The majority of their players would too...

Haha. A deck is someone's current trading "deck". It is a slang term for how much business they can bring...their "deck".
He is applying for a trading position. He trades corn, beans, wheat, milo..etc..
Still dont get it. Although you make it sound a lot like Pokemon or that Magic the Gathering thing.
Does this "deck" refer to skills, experience and market knowledge or is he bringing in actual commodities? [&:]
