Most of what I'm talking about actually got out, (I should know. I talked to the media enough about these things.) but it was drowned out in the coverage of the actual war going on. But then again, some things never quite became public.

Frank,

Our partnership unit was with the 4th PzGren. Where are you stationed?

I was stationed with the 66th/204th MI out of Augsburg. We did some cohort training with a signals unit of the 4th.

Best,

Test Message Cant solve 6 week old tech problem preventing posts. If you can see this I have returned from the dead. Unfortuanately the twelve detailed posts will be lost for ever. (Might retype the USMC/Somalia one though) All the best for the corps in 21C

I was not a Marine, but I'll post this in honor of my friend and co-worker Sgt (E5)Richard Lipscomb, who served in the 1st Marines in Vietnam 1967-68. He was lucky enough to be discharged before Tet and when he was asked to re-up, he said no, because he KNEW some serious shit was going to come down. I respect him , and I talk to him on a daily basis at the office. He has no idea I'm talking about him, but I feel lucky to have him open up to me about some of the things he wouldn't even tell his wife, and it only deepens my respect for ALL of you guys. He knows of my interest in these things, and he's been very forthcoming. I don't think he'll ever be a part of these forums, but it gives me a perspective towards playing SPWaW that only makes me value the lives of my (virtual ) troops more. To some that may seem silly, but I hope you guys understand what I mean. PS I left out that Richard was a Sgt(E5) at discharge.
