Corrupt graphics in windowed mode

Post by bckays »

Hello,

My desktop is ~1154x864 16-bit color. But when I run in windowed mode (1024x768 window), the game won't display the map. I just get colored hexes.

Has anyone else seen this? Is there a workaround other than playing full screen?

Thanks,
Chuck

We have improved the -w mode in the patch we are working on. I don't know if this will fix your problem, but hopefully it will. On my computer with 2.20 I was getting strange graphics on the map and they are now gone with the new patch. Since you aren't getting a map in 2.20 there may be something else going on I'm not aware of.
All understanding comes after the fact.

If you alt-tab out as the game is loading it causes this effect. It has nothing to do with windoed mode because it happened to me when I was playing and I don't use windowed mode.

I had just started the game and the scenario was loading when I heard that I had email. I alt-tabbed out to read my mail, hoping it was a PBEM turn but it was just spam, and when I alt-tabbed back in the map wasn't there -- just dots like you said.
