Sounds like a lot of Sturmoviks sitting around slowly rusting away instead of helping their comrades on the ground. [&:]

Ah, my bad. When I said defensive CAP, I ment that he flies interception and ground attacks on my attacks. Sorry, was in a slight hurry when I typed.

Turn 119

Overall
We keep pushing, and had I not made a slight mistake, we would have bagged a few units (we still do, although not as many as intended). I HAVE to start to focus on one thing at a time, not move to and forth and attacking all along the line... Not too happy with the actual battle results this turn though, too many held results that I did not expect...
Still, 86 attacks gave a result of 15 helds, 61 retreats, 6 routs, 1 shatter and 3 surrenders.
Also look at the railroads below...Not good. Not good at all. I am also still short on points to buy out stuff. I am now using points on taking units out of static mode as Brad is forced to fall back more and more.

USSR units in pockets at start of turn
3.

USSR units in pockets at end of turn
7 + 5 that will walk.

Losses
USSR : 166.000 troops, 2.780 guns, 232 AFVs, 618 AC.
Axis : 42.000 troops, 472 guns, 120 AFVs, 126 AC.

USSR units lost
1 Rifle Corps, 1 Cavalry Corps, 1 Rifle Division, 1 Sapper Regiment.

German units disbanded
None.

Partisans hunted down
10.

German pools
Manpower : 193.133
Vehicles : 251.884
Armaments : 555.298
Hiwi : 152.468

Victory Points
220.

Turn 120

Overall
Now we are even sending our SEC divisions to the front to fight as regulars. I am however not sure how wise this is, as the USSR partisans are now a real PITA, and they are making it hard for me to rebuild the railroads. However those divisions might be the little extra needed...
Although all in all I will clai mthis a good turn for the Axis, the number of held results are increasing each turn now... Oh well, atleast we have reached Moscow, all that remains now is to encircle and take the city... That should be interesting I fear.
83 attacks resulted in 15 helds, 57 retreats, 5 routs and 6 surrenders this turn.

USSR units in pockets at start of turn
11.

USSR units in pockets at end of turn
14.

Losses
USSR : 172.000 troops, 2.929 guns, 105 AFVs, 540 AC.
Axis : 43.000 troops, 412 guns, 144 AFVs, 98 AC.

USSR units lost
1 Guards Rifle Division, 7 Rifle Divisions, 1 Rifle Brigade.

German units disbanded
None.

Partisans hunted down
10, leaving 1 on the map.

German pools
Manpower : 206.560 (I think! An extra number managed to sneak into my notes...)
Vehicles : 255.674
Armaments : 561.020
Hiwi : 156.200

Victory Points
220.

Battle around Moscow most certainly, but he has moved at least 4 army corps into the area already and certainly more will come. He has a few nice fortifications about and the city itself, don't use your panzers in the city. Mud is coming soon but if you can further isolate Moscow and chew up Red army divisions his winter outlook will be bleak. Patience here, let him fill the prison camp with those good corps sitting in their forts!

ye charge with all panzers on moscows flanks after the mud.

use hq buildups last turn before mud ends and spann air drops with fuels on them during the 4 mud turns.

I'll allow Brad the time it takes to fix his PC, although it might be I miss his wife's email from sending me offers on anything from gold to Viagra [:D]

Terje

Are these offers in return for in-game favours to Brad? we should be told

Patience...Not my strong suit that [:D]
I actually hope to complete the encirclement before the arrival of mud.

Turn 121 aka lots of maps

Overall
We keep pushing on the outskirts of Moscow, and form another pocket west of the city. In the Stalingrad sector, Brad falls back, this results in fewer attacks this turn as our MP is spent moving through empty land. Alot of maps this turn to show you the entire front. Notice how the Fins do not believe the Germans will succeed [:D]
54 attacks results in 9 helds, 36 retreats, 3 routs, 1 shatter and 9 surrenders.
This turn we also overran some USSR airfields. It shows in the number of AC lost this turn.

USSR units in pockets at start of turn
13.

USSR units in pockets at end of turn
13.

Losses
USSR : 225.000 troops, 3.759 guns, 538 AFVs, 1.060 AC.
Axis : 38.000 troops, 389 guns, 133 AFVs, 133 AC.

USSR units lost
2 Tank Corps, 2 Rifle Corps, 11 Rifle Divisions.

German units disbanded
None.

Partisans hunted down
9.

German pools
Manpower : 208.036
Vehicles : 256.561
Armaments : 562.351
Hiwi : 163.753

Victory Points
221.
