Air Squadron Question?

Post by Kelen »

Hey, I have a question about air squadrons. It seems that after I have used them a while they tend to break up into smaller groups. For example, I moved a 16 plane b-17 squadron to Port Morsby. After a few weeks when I was looking around assesing my bases I noticed that I know had 4 small squadrons of b17's there. Why does this happen and how do I correct it?

Thanks,
S

Replacement aircraft will show up but NOT join up with the parent formation if the parent formation is out of transfer range. These become squadron fragments that wait around for you to manually move them to rejoin their parent. If the squadron is within range, this happens automatically, and you don't even see it.

Are you sure these were not new squadrons coming into play? The B-17 has lots of range so the odds on you having the parent formation outside the transfer range are pretty slim.

There also seems to be a side issue, where a partial upgrade occurs and some aircraft get upgraded (B-17E -> B-17G) at which point the un-upgraded aircraft can not be merged with the upgraded aircraft until they too upgrade. I seem to recall that this is mentioned as being fixed in the upcomming patch.

One thing I note, you mentioned a 16 plane B-17 squadron. All B-17 squadrons are 12 planes in UV. If you had a 16 plane version, you have disbanded or withdrawn another active squadron, which may be why you are seeing this oddness.
