And then there was a night air attack on Kuantan. Night attacks bypass the CAP and get right at the aircraft on the ground. I'm not
surprised that the Japs are doing that.

This is the second of two separate night air attacks by the Japs on Manila:

And then some Jap Betty's came to visit at Rabaul. I need some CAP and some flak guns there to help out but alas, neither is readily
avaliable right now. It's too late to move some fighters there because of all the runway damage etc. I dare not try to evacuate those
troops because of the air threat and no air power in that AO. It looks like Rabaul is indefensible and ripe for the picking.

And then Johore Bahru receives an air strike:

And then Rangoon gets hit. I'm going to replace the British aircraft w/ the AVG so as to shoot down more Jap planes, net gain overall.

And then my shipping comes under carrier-borne air attack at Sambas.

And then there's another carrier air attack in Java:

And the Japs landed at Davao during the night and it looks like the attacks will begin immedately. If not sooner.

Elmer has sailed his CV group to the west side of Java and has commenced flying air strikes aimed at shipping so far. There's not a
whole lot I can do about it either. I'm toying w/ the idea of swamping his TF w/ my surface assets but I'm not sure what Elmer has in his
TF and I might not have enough to finish off the group. I need more recon of his group.

I'm thinking that the Japs are going to continue moving west and that the next major target might be Tarakan and then the Japs will move
south to Balikapan and I have no idea where then, so I'm guessing I ought to consider evacuating Balikpapan pretty soon now. Every
ship needs to move to Darwin and southern points. Everybody. Maybe I'm over-reacting but it makes for good theater.

The 41st Aust. Bn has arrived at Shortlands and is being unloaded there. They need some supplies so I guess I'll have to make a
separate trip for that.

I'm sending all three CV's to Canton Island so I can stage them for further moves. I'm thinking of contesting the landings at Rabaul if I can
so that might slow down Elmer a bit. The longer I can hold onto the Port Moresby area the better the game will be I'm thinking.
