I'm doing something similar with transport ships and their escorts, never thought about to distribute evenly among the ship although.

How many fuel do you retain on the BBs? I don't know, enough for 100 hexes or just for the mission and then to use the minimal/tactical refuel option?
Ships will not transfer fuel to others once they reach their minimum fuel level [enough to get back to base + 10%]. You don't have to monitor this, just make sure you set the ship's home port to the base you want it to go back to.

Good work on the damage control by that sub, but he still needs to lay the mines to avoid reprimand by the high command!

At least it was just a "2" sniper instead of a "1" on I-169. It should make it back to port I think.

The signature image is great. I am going to show it to my gaming group tonight when we gather for our weekly Barricades session.

The guys got a kick out of the signature image.

I am playing the Russians with another guy against a couple of guys playing the Germans. We are three dates into the CG (about my 5th time playing one side or the other). I am very fortunate to have a good group of guys to gather with weekly for these types of CGs. FB will probably be next for us once we finish wading through Stalingrad.

How is I-169 doing?

Air Warfare
I made a port attack on Milne Bay but my fighter pilots again miss the enemy CAP.
I launched a sweep mission and all gone well, two Kittys shot down and no losses for me.
Then in the following attack the enemy CAP evaded my escort (13 Zeros) and shot down 8 Bettys [:-]

Naval Warfare
Finally the Japanese High Command sent me several reinforcements:
2 CVs, 1 CVL, 2 BBs, 4 CAs and several DDs, furthermore 4 AOs with 70% fuel cargo still loaded and now I can think to be more aggressive.

All CAs docked at Rabaul left the port leaded by RAdm Tanaka, time to use these ships.

General
Rabaul now has 20000+ supply and around 7500 fuel, enough for small ships and aircraft replacements.

Naval Warfare
I-168 miss his target and has been hit by APD, just few flood damages at least, is still operative.

Ground Warfare
We captured Ocean Island, another forward base for scouting.

Two questions:

1) How do you plan to use your CAs under Tanaka?
2) How do you plan to use your CVs?

1) How do you plan to use your CAs under Tanaka?

I think in a bombardment mission but I have to understand when and where, no clue about his CVs/BBs and CAs because he has been quiet so far.
Also I don't know the amount of damages that I can able to do with only 5 CAs and 2 CLs.
2) How do you plan to use your CVs?

I just reseized the CVL Ryujo's Datais, now I have 33 Zeros and 15 Kates with very good pilots. The Allied CVs can field more planes than me therefore I have to be cautious.
At the moment I'm waiting the 2nd Division at Truk, several xAKs/AKs (five of them will arrive at Rabaul therefore I need some more days to move at Truk) and then I can start an offensive operations, Tulagi and Lunga are my best targets even if Pm and Milne Bay can be valuable.
Before say which target I will wait my opponent reaction if any, otherwise I will do the first move, e4 (open game) or d4 (close game)?

Question for you:
I have some air groups scheduled to withdrawal, in a full campaign I would change all good pilots to rookie ones but in a small scenario I don't know if can be considered unfair, we are speaking about 70-80 Betty/Zeros pilots (very good).
Thoughts?

I would not consider it unfair if he can do the same with his air units when they withdraw.
It is a mystery to me why Japan would withdraw units at all in the GC. In this scenario I can see them withdrawing to go to Burma or China, but the best pilots are needed to fight the Americans.

I think you are right, best solution is to ask how he wants to handle this thing.

After a little break for real life duties by my opponent we can continue the game. [:)]

General
New reinforcement units, some ship and the first part of 2nd Division:
CL Sendai arrives at Rabaul
DD Fubuki arrives at Rabaul
DD Shirayuki arrives at Rabaul
DD Hatsuyuki arrives at Rabaul
DD Murakumo arrives at Rabaul
2nd Inf Div HQ arrives at Truk
2nd ID/4th Inf Regiment arrives at Truk
I/2nd Field Artillery Battalion arrives at Truk

Air Warfare
I made a ground attack on 30th Australian Brigade but again enemy CAP has been able to interdict my attack, 18 Zeros on escort against 10 Kittys and while I just destroy a single plain they shot down three Zeros and 2-3 Bettys.
Time to do some sweep missions...

Naval Warfare
I-175 launched 4 torpedoes at DD Aaron Ward but all missed.

Lunga has been cleared by mines, maybe something has been hit [8|]

I think it's fair. The 25th AirFlot was withdrawn, irl, because it was shot to pieces and went home to rebuild. Clearly, in many games, 25th AirFlot will still be operational and will not need to withdraw. So definitely keep the pilots.

The withdrawal requirement was a holdover from the campaign database and will be addressed in the new Guad scenario. In small scenarios it's probably better to use the manual withdraw/disband buttons anyway.

Keep asking these kinds of questions. They raise many points that need to be considered to make a better scenario.
