Red Turn DLC release schedule

Unity of Command lets you replay the epic conflict that was the Stalingrad Campaign of World War II. In this turn-based game of strategy and cunning, observe how opportunity leads the German army to advance recklessly into the steppes of southern Russia. And as the story unfolds, join the Soviet campaign to repel the invaders... As these legendary battles play out on the hex board, the tension of decision making and difficulties of conducting operations on a massive scale emerge. Command armies and fronts in maneuver warfare, thrust and encircle, capture cities and cross continents; but never, ever forget to watch your supply lines. The Red Turn expansion ads a gigantic Soviet expansion centered on the Kursk campaign.

Red Turn DLC release schedule

Post by ComradeP »

The DLC should become available on Steam tonight (tonight, CET) and possibly-probably on the UoC website tonight as well.

As Matrix is on sort of Christmas holiday for a short while, I can't give any kind of estimate for the Matrix release.

Will DLC purchased directly from 2x2 be compatible with a Matrix version of the base game or do we have to wait for the Matrix version?

When will the 1.04 patch be available via Matrix (or where else could I get a Matrix compatible patch) as it has apparently already been released via Steam ?

Answers from Tomislav:

It's compatible, but you absolutely must have 1.04 version of the
game, and Matrix to the best of my knowledge is not issuing their
build before January. I will ask again though.

In the meantime, you can upgrade to our version of the game if you
like, see here:
http://unityofcommand.net/how-to-upgrade/

The DLC itself is compatible with either version, as long as it's
1.04. The only significant difference between the versions in fact, is
the default install location.

Thanks for the response, I've just sent an email to 2x2 to register the game with them and thus hopefully get the patch.

Somewhat disappointed that Matrix are so out of the loop on this.

However very impressed by 2x2

Within 5 minutes of requesting registration for the patch received an email with a full download of version 1.04 of UoC.

Excellent customer service.

I totally agree. I had a response from Tomislav within literally a minute. Matrix seems asleep at the wheel here, just as they are with AGEOD's Alea Jacta Est.

I read the posts and if you bought the game from Matrix can you play it through Steam?

Secondly, if you want to see what version you have click on the "View Credits" on the main screen it will show you.

I don't think Matrix is slow, it is just inconvenient (though somewhat understandable) that they more or less go in hibernation mode for a prolonged period at the end of the year. It was inconvenient for WitE as well, as we couldn't release the first patch until something like a month after it was done.

I'm posting to express my disappointment. If this is all the enthusiasm Matrix can muster near a holiday I'll probably be purchasing my games elsewhere if at all possible.

Matrix let themselves down I feel in how long they need to get things up on the site for download..several games now fall behind other places thta have the same game..

I expect it's one reason why going forward they only want exclusive titles only. Though I think in days of self publish etc this is a limiting route as I think alot of developers wouldn't be that keen on Matrix pricing policy, keeping years old games at near the price of a new game..making it unlikely few if any are sold thereby bringing in no money in the long term from the game..where as if they went cheap they'd suddenly have a new influx of cash. Exclusivity really only suits the publisher in the long run, but something a new developers is most likely willing to go along with for any extra help though as I said those times are probably getting scarce.

I went to the developer and I am highly impressed at how fast they helped me out!!!

I'm assuming from the lack of response from Matrix that they are no longer supporting / promoting / interested in Unity of Command.

Which is a shame as it is one of the better recent releases in their catalogue.

What is the status of this game? I have the one from Matrix and would like to get the add on? What do you recommend?

Given that there hasn't been an official Matrix response on this thread since it was started over two months ago Matrix don't seem to be that interested in supporting or patching UoC.

For how to get the latest patch see post #3 in this thread.

Once you have done that I would suggest buying the Red Turn DLC directly from the developers 2x2. Not only will you be able to buy the add on now, it is cheaper than through Matrix (at least it is here in the UK) and it is actually being supported.

Thanks wolfe for the info, i sent an email to 2x2 with my serial number and a copy of the email sent from matrix after I purchased the game. I noticed Steam has the add on for 4.99, I guess you can't use the download from Steam?

I just got the 1.04a patch from 2x2. Steam has a half price sale on the dlc can I get this if I didn't buy the game from steam?

So, it looks like Matrix finally has the DLC available. But, there is no purchase button on the store page!!! They are advertising it all over their website, but there is no way to buy it!

Matrix is sure disappointing me lately, with their slow service and less than stellar presence on the forums. This DLC is two months late!

The link is available now. I'm sorry we've disappointed you, jglazier. Unity of Command is not an exclusive release for us and the release showed up after our holiday schedule was already set with no more room left on the production side, so it had to wait. We love the game, so we still wanted to make it available but we had to fit it in when we could.
