Can I ask both sides in this interesting argument for their favourite, one-volume book of choice on the subject please?
Many thanks.
A good one-volume book about the American Revolution is "The Glorious Cause - The American Revolution, 1763 - 1789" by Robert L. Middlekauff.
Please note that this is not the historical novel of the same name by Jeff Shaara.

Thanks - I will take a look at Amazon.
Now Maitland, now's your time!
Duke of Wellington to 1st Guards Brigade - Waterloo 18 June 1815
Here is some interesting "history". Warning!! some of you old farts might get apoplexy.
There are rude words in it so don't look if you don't want to see them.
A good laugh for those who have a sense of humour. The rest needn't bother: http://www.cracked.com/article_18442_5- ... =companion
I am not going ballistic over this, but it's just more bullsh*t.

Are you describing a poker hand in your authentic Wyoming frontier gibberish? Most people would call that a "Full House-Aces over Eights".
Well, I'll see your two hogs over applewood coals and raise you a bucket o' chicken and a jug o' moonshine.

I hope so - the alternative doesn't bear thinking about....but I have deliverance in mind.....
Well Chickenboy and warspite, you both have just been disinvited to my BBQ bash. Orm, Wodin, Perturabo, ILS and several other's may still come. Even SLAAKMAN is invited. I would like to invite Josh, but he is, after all, DUTCH. Besides, Dutchmen are not allowed to enter America.

Germany's unforgivable crime before the Second World War was her attempt to extricate her economy from the world's trading system and to create her own exchange mechanism which would deny world finance its opportunity to profit.
— Winston Churchill
Er Slaakman, has "she" got a bit of a willy thing going on there?
Eesh...a bit of an adam's apple thing too. No thanks, SLAAKMAN, I like my women with TWO (and only two) X chromosomes, and a serum testosterone level below my own.

Yes, but do you really think that the prospect of Orm prancing about sans shirt will entice any other party goers? Lemme guess-you've got a special place on Brokeback Mountain for your soire?
I'll take my chances at the sycophant convention with Warspite1. He's brilliant, that Warspite1! Brilliant!
