I finally figured out why Jim has a sub in my port at Yokohoma: he's planting mines. It's the only answer to why he would risk it. He's
figured out that all he has to do is mine all my ports and the war is over in six months. This game may undergo a restart in the future,
because Jim may win this thing after all. I've just gotten some of his ships and he's working from an advantage now that I have only two
minesweepers. Unless there's other ships that can sweep for mines besides the DMS's I'm counting. Anybody know?

I thought a level 4 airfield at Palembang might come in handy for something so I'm unloading the 9th something or other, AF dudes there
at Palembang to bring the airfield support level up to snuff. Next I'll fly some planes into there.

I think just about any small craft can sweep for mines (PC, KV, DD etc).
DMS may be better at it, but I think they all can do it.

Outside of the dedicated minelaying subs like the Argonaut, most US subs lay pretty small minefields. They can be a nuisance, but hardly a gamebreaker.

Jim and I exchanged files and so on yada yada.........One of my subs gets a hit:

Allied losses weren't as high as I was hoping to see. But I'll take it. Better than nothing.

One of my SC's cleared some mines. Good to know they will do that. With only 2 DMS ships I can use the extra help from SC's.

And then my Betty's do a strike on Mersing:

And then the Allies fly a B-17 raid on Port Moresby:

And then the Allies attack me and only my CAP keeps the casualties low.

And the Japs capture Singkep and the 44K of resources there. I can see the boats lining up at the dock to carry them away.
