Get to the Settings - how?

Post by KapHelmet »

Installed on Windows XP within VMWareFusion on a MacBook Air.
Played a single battle, Windowed, game ran fine, all seems good.
Looked in Settings and noticed that the resolution was set to 2500 x 1800 (or something like that)
Reduced settings to 1920x1200 (res of the screen)
Relaunched and the screen remains black then exits.

The problem: I can't get the Settings back, whenever I hold down Ctrl and click it gives me the context menu, and I haven't found a way to stop that.

So my questions are:

1. Anyone know a way I can access the settings some other way? Maybe there is a file I can edit directly?
2. Failing that, anyone have any other ideas how to get to the Settings?

I expect I can just reinstall to be able to play again, but that doesn't help me change the resolution because I don't want to reinstall every time in a process of experimenting with resolutions :)

Many thanks in advance!

In native Windows (the supported OS) you can hold down CTRL while the game starts it will reset the game preferences to the default state.  Is this a single button mouse?  Any way to simulate a left click vs. right click if so?  Since on Windows you would be doing a ctrl+left click, and it is a right-click that brings up the popup menu.  If not, perhaps if you're quick enough you can double click to start the game and get ctrl down before it's running?

On Windows you could run the system utility "RegEdit" to change your registry settings.  The game settings are stored in the Windows registry under HEKY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Matrix Games\Close Combat Panthers in the Fog.  ScreenX and ScreenY are string entries and you can change these to the resolution you want to use.  Hopefully you're still able to do this under VMWareFusion.
