Good afternoon! All this talk of Spring makes me want to head outside, but then I get outdoors on me and it's right back to the safety of my living room. A fellow could get hurt out there, or worse, sunburnt! Thank you, I'll keep my fish-belly white coloration! I'm not pale, it's artic camo!
Especially after you've been outside in West By God Virginia for a short time... the coal dust creates the grey and black portions of the camo, right? [:'(]
Ah, I see you've been there! TINS: I grew up in the coalfields and until I was a teenager, I thought all dirt was black, gray or some mixture of the two and what you'd think of as normal dirt, I thought was red clay.

RE: THE THREAD!!!
I'd love to see the area, but I guess I'll settle for Occupied Virginia. It may not look it at times, but there's a reason why the first Scots-Irish into the area settled here and refered to the place as the Highlands. We've even got a decent Highland Pipes and Drums band over in Virginia around Abingdon.ORIGINAL: DivePac88

Glad to hear that you are getting out some more, Des. Before long you'll be hiking to Edoras...
Afraid I'm not into that sort of site-seeing,do like the movies and books though.
Just down the road from where we live, is the forest where the house chase in the first movie was filmed. My brother and I used to shot rabbits there when we were kids, wouldn't do it now though, as we would probably shot a happy-camper by mistake.
Also most of the mountain scenes in the Lord of the rings movies, were shot within fifty kilometers of here. So you can see why it's really great for me to get to that stump, so I can see those same mountains.

Calling someone a Dunedin person could get you shot up here in the Otago highcountry

Morning tithe... I've just been on a walk with my OT/Physio in the Park, haven't been out-there regularly for three years. We made it to the top of the hill, and could sit on an old stump. Could see the Lake below, with the high wall of the Southern Alps shimmering in behind, life is good. [:)]

Apropos of nothing, I think the Brits have corrupted the Dutch by long acquaintance. The poor sods have appropriated the "speak louder when the dumb foreigners can't understand you" bit.

Happy Friday afternoon... Everyone in the office hasn't budgeted their time properly for the "no more OT" directive and have have run out of time to be at work. The only person to effectively budget their time is still at work... sigh...

It's 81 here... hot as hell compared to the last couple of weeks of 20-35...golf, shooting, and fishing anyone? Yes, please.
Life is tough. The sooner you realize that, the easier it will be.
