So You Like 'Em Big, huh?- Thank you Alexandra!

Post by Wild Bill »

Guess what!

Alexandra Collins, our lovely lady of wargaming here on the forum has done an amazing thing!

She has collated, combined and put three campaigns into one big MONSTER...or "Momo" (a Raider word meaning real big Image )campaign!

Some of you die-hards are gonna really like this one.

We hope to send out with the update of SPWAW along with perfected OOBs, newer graphics from our artistic guru Warhorse (Mike Amos) some new scenarios and some other goodies!

But in addition, you will now have the monster campaign "A Long Road to Victory!" compiled by Alexandra.

It will include "Preparing the Way" (NA and Sicily), "Utah to the Rhine" (Western Europe-44-45) and "The Victors" (confrontation of US vs USSR)! It could mean as many as 37 battles start to finish! Image

Now THAT, my friend is a REAL campaign, don't you agree?

Thanks Alexandra. You did a great job with this!

Damn,

Just when I thought I'd be able to get caught up on my sleep, this comes along. Looks like it's time to buy about25 lbs of coffee and 8 boxes of Vivarin. It's gamin' time.

Wild Bill: I recall someone saying a wekk or two back, that V4.6 was looking like a 1/21 release date. How's it coming along? By the weekend?

The lady did well.

Charles, I don't have any new updates on issuance date. I think there has been a delay of some sort Image but then this always seems to happen when we announce a deadline. Sorry!

Words fail me at this point. What can I say other than I really, really can't wait to get my hands on this one.

Firstly, thanks to everyone for thier Kudo's. However, I do want to point out that all I really did was organize Bill's work into one large file.

However, there are a few changes for those of you already starting to strategize.

The largest trick to the conversion was that all three campaigns had different core points: Preparing 1100, U2R 1400 I think, and Victors 2700. Oh, and I used the hard version of Victors, so be warned Image

So, what I did was give you 1950 core points, and heavily adjusted support points. In Preparing I dropped support points about 40 percent per scenario, though your core is about 60 percent larger, so that's no biggie. In my test, I blew through it with 4 DVs and none of the battles were ever in doubt.

In fact, I've restarted it with a core of minor nations troops, to see if that makes it harder Image

For U2R support points were lowered slightly, and for Victors, raised slightly.

Hope you all like it,

Alex

It' going to be interesting to see what impact the altered close assault probabilities are going to have on this beast.
