Good Morning!

65F now, will be 40F this afternoon. Possible severe storms coming our way. Only slight risk for tornadoes. I get mixed feelings on days like this. There is a bit of dread at the possible destruction that could happen and an excitement that I get to really do what I do best in disaster situations. My job is to help mitigate, record, and recover from such events.

As I type this the first tornado warning has been issued. Not in my area, but close. And so it begins...

Hey Schani:

Thanks for the commute-hour blizzard coming our way. Going into work should be craptacular today.

At least we'll have this to warm our spirits: [:'(]

It's only women's hockey. People here were trying to talk to me about it, but they were just talking to the hand. The real show begins with the final five in your neck of the woods. Can't wait. Men's college hockey playoffs is the best, no matter who advances. Though it just isn't the playoffs without the Fighting Sioux making an appearance.[8D] Great game last night 6-0 win over Michigan Tech. It went to game three, so I got my moneys worth on the season tickets.

Been snowing since about the second period last night, about 8:00 pm. And it is still snowing turning into blizzard conditions. Winds picking up to 40 mph. Expecting -18F. Wednesday morning. It's Stalingrad outside.

But everything is okay. Only two more days until spring arrives. Everything will be just fine when spring arrives.

About a 1/4 mile visibility in town. Most likely 0 in the country.
Meanwhile, out in the garage my golf clubs are whimpering and whining.

...got to work this morning and read this email from my boss...[X(][X(][X(]

"I was having a great day today at a bike race and a half mile before the finish another rider crashed right in front of me which caused me to crash. So here I lie in the UC Davis Medical Center and I will be okay but this looks like it will be my home for the next 3 – 5 days.

Here’s a rundown of my injuries: concussion, 2 broken bones in my hand, 4 cracked ribs, broken clavicle and of course road rash. The only real issue now is that I had a slight puncture in my lung and I have a tube between my chest cavity and my lung to evacuate the air until my lung heals.

I will try to check my email when I can but I will be fine. No big deal except for a little pain."

...think i'll stick to golf...

You know what this means. You've got 5 days of goofing off!

P.S. Golf sucks.

It's the major reason I quit racing my bicycle back in the mid 80's. Before that, if you were a good enough rider to stay in the lead bunch you had pretty good bike handling skills. Then triathlons came along and you started having a lot of guys who were strong enough to stay with you but had no knowledge of how to ride in a pack. After being taken out by someone's crash in three races in a row I decided that it was time to call it quits. Luckily I never had anything worse than road rash in my career - except for some expensive bike repairs.

Yes it does.

But I still enjoy playing a few rounds.[;)]

Schanilec, just use an orange ball, you can golf year round!

Of course, you may have to do some digging each time you take a stroke, and your bump and run game will suffer...

Nah. Each and every stroke is a hole-in-one. Swish![8D] Come on baby, bring on the North Korean's. I'll even golf blindfolded to give them a sporting chance.[8D]

I have no golf skills, I do not need them as golf sucks which renders playing the game pointless

I accept your offer of a duel and as you raised the challenge, I get to choose the weapons. As such I choose to duel with weapons constructed from items found in our respective workplaces that are constructed in an A-Team style montage build. See you on the field.
