Vic or anyone is this possible?

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

Vic or anyone is this possible?

Is the engine set up in away I could do a mod at Coy level 250m or 500m hex..maybe three turns for daylight (morning\noon\evening) and one turn for night, during Soviet winter just two turns daylight.

Any thoughts? Possibly going for a Streets of Stalingrad scenario...

Honestly Wodin, I think that ATG is your best friend in this respect. While there are certain things that cannot be simulated... as range over 500m by rifles. The problem in the ATG is the same in the DC-series. Line of sight is not simulatable. In the DC-series it gets alittle worse if you are going to try it. Since it doesn´t have a date system that can be abstracted, which ATG does. That is 1 turn = 1 day minimum in DC-series.

Hmm..OK mate. With ATG I'd have to use the arty rules to simulate rifle fire so in effect the game would think all counters are really arty units I suppose..

Thanks mate!

The engine has been designed for operational games, but I think lower level can be simulated as well. I my self however would not go under 1 km / company level. However I guess in difficult terrain effective ranged fire is neglible. I mean how often is infantry shooting at eachother from 500 meters distance in ww2? especially in urban fighting? i think it could work. The editor isnt easy though, but in DCWTP there have been at least 2 players I have seen creating their own new OOBs succesfully, one of them is the already available Tannenbaum blitz scenario.

Best,
Vic
