1.7.0.17 Beta-OK, 1.7.0.20 Beta-No Go

I've got HP laptop i5 2,3ghz and I never had problems before until this last update.

I went from V17 to v20, and kaboom.

I have to find a full version. My computer at my home is good, but the modem speed is slow, and even 34,000 takes a LONG time.
I hope to try again this weekend.

I just installed the game fresh on a new computer (windows 7). Started with Basic Game (tested, ran), Shakura (tested ran), installed Legends patch 20, won't start.

From the crash log:
ystem.ApplicationException: Could not find required image: C:\Distant Worlds\images\units\ships\other\majorsets\PhantomPirates\escort.png
at DistantWorlds.Types.BuiltObjectImageCache.CheckLoadSmallImage(Int32& index, String fullPathWithoutSuffix, String fullPathWithoutSuffixCustom)
at DistantWorlds.Types.BuiltObjectImageCache.GenerateBuiltObjectImageFilepaths()

There is no PhantomPirates folder in that location. Before this, this computer has never had the game installed, also no mods.

here is that missing file.

Just rename it back to escort.png and place it in the PhantomPirates folder.

If he lacks the folder, I guess he won't have the frigate either...

It is clearly a faulty install. Try download legends and install again, or something.

And just to be clear, the steps needed are:

1: Install DW
2: Install return of the shakturi
3: Install legends
4: Install legends patch 20

You did not mention step 3, and stepping that would kind of... result in missing all kind of files.

Thanks, the download link provided on the site under my account just provided patch 20. I assumed it was all that was needed. I shall open a ticket to get the original base install.

When I bought legends (way back), I got an email with download information. The header to that effect.
Inside a link I think is open for a week or two.

If this link is not received, or no longer working, a ticket should solve it.
