The 18th UK was in Burma and is now slogging through the jungle with a few Indian divisions and I think an Aussie as well. I'd have to look back to see which ones exactly, but he threw a lot into Burma early. He should still have good strength in India, but if I got there before these troops made it out, there would be a chance.

A lot of things would have to go right, but it would be fun to try. I'd have to make sure I could get a railhead up the line somewhere so any movement of the army moving from Burma would have to be off rail.

"A few Indian divisions"? Has he spent all PPs buying out Indian divisions? Only 1 ID starts attached to Burma command. The rest are restricted.

I'll have to look back. Pretty sure it was more than one Indian division.

EDIT: I think I made a comprehensive list in the AAR, but couldn't find it. This is what I came up with looking at combat reports. Not several Indian divisions I guess, but one full and a few brigades. Plus the Aussie stuff. It's quite a bit, anyway, to be still stuck in the jungle. I'm not sure which of these he had to buy, but a good number if I my memory of the Allied OOB is close to right.

I'd put my ability to launch an operation quickly enough to have a positive outcome at about 25%. Plus, I'll telegraph the whole thing through prep. But I might be able to use that as well.

You have to take into account that he will have 5-6 full strength Indian IDs now. This late they probably have full Morale and at least 50-55 EXP. Upgraded to 42 squads these can pose a pretty formidable force. Then there is the 3-4 armored brigades depending on where he sent them. He should have them in good order by now and once they upgrade to mediums they are pretty awesome.

A lot depend on if he has put the Indian IDs into order. Its takes some fiddling to fill out the 42 squads. Each ID is about 400 AV. With armor that could in worst case mean about 3000 AV ready for counter attacking. A landing around Chittagong will also allow him to shift a lot of stuff guarding the Western Coast of India.

I think you are a bit too late for this. But then again you don´t have much to loose as long as you keep your retreat open! You can always pull back! [:)]

You're probably right. I'll just keep the door open until it looks absolutely impossible. Fun to imagine anyway.

The other interesting option is to really dig in and do this with some good knowledge from our game about what is most vulnerable. I will make a first line in S/SW PAC up along the Lae > Rabaul > Namatani axis, not farther South, this time. The lower Solomons were a waste in the real war for Japan and it's the same in game I realize now. no need to be there except to put a few small roadblocks and search bases. I might take Port Moresby, but if so, only to get rid of the Allies there now and to make him have to take time re-taking it. I won't build it up.

I will also build up North New Guinea early ( all of the way to Sarmi [;)]) and get good build-up in the OZ bases and DEI early. I'm about to go for West OZ, and it doesn't look like much extra is there, but of course it could be waiting for me to go to show itself. Torsten has shown he is aggressive and willing to take risks and with the CV parity, he could move at any time.

It's been a while since I've been able to update. As usual the interesting things happen when I'm weeks behind in the AAR. I'll do my best to give a quick recap with some detailed reports, then get to current events. Some interesting (and slightly devastating) developments recently.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]SUBS: [/font] The I-32 hits the Clan Forbes with one TT. The KXVII is sunk at port in Darwin by Nells.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]DEI: [/font] The last Dutch holdout at Manado falls. Now it's all about clean-up. I'll do th forward areas first and work my way back to the remaining PI islands.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]CHINA: [/font] I continue to pound troops at Sian with air strikes and Torsten sends small units to harass behind the lines in the SE. The big move is that he retreats the blockade of the road to Sian. That is crucial. The base there will be tough to conquer, but in a clear hex it's only a matter of time now with a direct LOC and both armies joined for about 5k AV.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]PI: [/font] Mines were cleared at Bataan with no issues and troops begin to move to Singapore. I've got all propping for bases in India. I am sure Torsten will see this, but I want him to think I'm going big there even if it doesn't work out. A fight in the Burma area is preferable to Central Pacific after losing the CVs early.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]PACIFIC: [/font] Nothing happening here at all. Some Nells were shot down near Wake as I left them on too close a strike distance. At Port Moresby my zeros went for the PTs with marginal results. Shell hits only.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] Torsten bombs Magwe at night and takes more off of the oil there. It's a slow process, but he's dedicated to wearing it down. The Thai troops are nearly to Akyab, and will cross over in the next days. I tried a sweeps of Cox's Bazaar and encountered massive CAP from that base and bleeding from Chittagong. Lost 10 Oscars for 5 Allied planes.

Here I am slowly extending to Myitkyina and up into the jungles to Kalemyo. A division has been sent to walk up there. Recon does not show Torsten's British troops anywhere it the jungles toward India. They must still be there at this point, but an invasion of India is getting less and less likely.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]SUBS: [/font] Not much action from either side using subs. I have about ten now patrolling the area between Port Blair and Colombo. I haven't used any on the West coast, around Hawaii, or in the sea lanes of the Pacific. This is partially due to my laziness and partially to conserve the subs and fuel, keeping them for massed defensive action in later 42.

Torsten is using his subs to lightly patrol the DEI and IO, but nothing has been seen around the HI. A few US subs have attacked recently, but no hits have been recorded.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]DEI: [/font] Nells and Sallys ruined the fields at Darwin, Katherine and Wyndham in preparation for the landing at Wyndham. It should land in a few days.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]CHINA: [/font] Now that everything is concentrated in Sian it's quite easy to get really extraordinary results from bombing. I've got about 250 2E aimed there very day. The casualties are averaging over 1,000 now and dropped AV by 50 a day. I'll keep this going as long as he keeps 30+ units in the city and until we can try for it without blowing out our own forces. No hurry. I won't go for all of China. Just want the industry and oil.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]PACIFIC: [/font] A few sweeps over Port Moresby convince the Allied to not put CAP up here. All I see are small supply runs into the base. No combat ships in evidence.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] The Allied CVs show up to check in near the Andamans. I have some units prepping for Port Blair, and about to get moving, so likely this is either a move to interdict that invasion, or he had sigint on a division moving from Palembang to Rangoon. I had 4 DDs hovering near Port Blair to hit supply drops, on constant patrol, and these come under attack by two waves of SBD. The Nowaki takes one bomb hit but surprisingly is fine and makes it back to safety. All other TFs in the area turn around until the danger has passed.

The next day I sent the remaining 3 DDs into the Allied ships and got a single shell hit on a DD in the British CV TF (which includes many US ships). No lucky long lance hits in spite of getting to 3k yards.

As the ships retreat my Nells go for two AMc near Diamond Harbor that are under CAP and I lose a bunch of planes. He may have set this up intentionally, tricky guy.

Starting on the 13th Torsten sends in massive sweeps followed by bombing runs on the fields at Magwe, but doesn't escort the bombers, which suffer. The next day more of the same with the bombers aimed at the oil, and he does take another 40 points off of the oil for the price of 26 fighters, 40 or so bombers over the two days. He's very sporadic in his missions. They come in pulses. This is hard to prepare for but preferable so far to a steady diet of massed concentration bombing.

You are not going to try and knock China out? Whats the reasoning behind that? I would assume since you lost the KB that this would be your area of focus?

Also, with his Carriers in the IO you might want to use the opportunity to get Garrisons in place in Centpac? I´m guessing you will leave the Gilberts empty?

The reasoning behind not knocking out China is that we have the China reserve agreement. So if I looked to knock out all bases we would call a ceasefire and he would have the inner four cities.

I will make some effort to get into the mountains, but I also cannot afford to leave all armor in China indefinitely, as my defense will have to be set up within the next few months with the CV losses early.

In the Central Pacific I have taken the Gilberts, but I'm only manning them with one naval guard each. Much less focus on the outer Pacific. I also suspect he will concentrate on the DEI and Burma. Seeing the US CVs over here supports that view.

This stage of the war is full of intrigue but little action. Not much to report.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]SUBS: [/font] The I-154 is nearly sunk near Colombo and forced to limp back to port. The I-172 hits xAK Lancaster near Mare' and sinks her with two TT. One more xAKL is sunk by a Japanese sub.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]DEI: [/font] Not much going on here. Still a few bases to conquer.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]CHINA: [/font] Sian is continually bombed. I feel almost guilty for this, but it's the only way to break through here. The Chinese AV is now down to almost 4k. Once it gets below 3.5k or so I'd like to try another DA.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]W OZ: [/font] Troops land at Wyndham. The base is crippled by a massive BB bombardment and there is little resistance. I'll try to DA in a day or two. Then move to Katherine and aim to trap any troops he doesn't move back from Darwin to save.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] Many waves of night bombing for several turns take another chunk off of the oil, which is now down to 140 (160). At least it's still producing something. My sneaky division heads up toward Kalemyo into the jungles.

Torsten's CVs moved back toward Colombo, and our division turned around and proceeded to Rangoon. Due to the lack of CV strength I might not put as much emphasis on defending Burma and I'm thinking of pulling the major defenses back (once adequately challenged) to avoid the devastation of a flanking move along the Burma, Thai or even Malay coastline.

Another attempt to catch up here. Torsten is playing quite regularly of late.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]SUBS: [/font] On the 29th I-165 contacts a big Allied TF including the Repulse near the Andamans. It is sighted before getting a shot off and damaged.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]CHINA: [/font] Kweilin goes down to only a few small units. The Chinese have mostly retreated to the Chikhiang-Tuyun line with small harassing units moving around the SE trying to cut LOCs. I just keep bombing and sending recon rgts after them. No problems so far. I'm also moving on Nanning from Indochina. Once I secure all of this area I'll have to wait for more from the Sian area.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]W OZ: [/font] Troops move toward Katherine as Aussie troops retreat toward Katherine. Two units remain at Darwin.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] Torsten moves CVs in again close to the Andamans as troops load on ships heading for Port Blair. Either he has good sigint on this or is reading the tea leaves and watching the recon of Rangoon closely. I've got the KB upgrading groups as of the first, and then I might be able to provide some security here. He looks to have 2-3 US CVs plus some British here based on the search so far.

Night attacks continue on the oil at Magwe. A few more hits. Oscars get an occasional kill and lose a few as well.

Okay. It's been a while since the last update. The game is still moving along. Since Jocke had too busy a day to do a turn yesterday I have time to do this portion of the game justice. A very big and decisive few days in the game with far-reaching implications.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]OVERVIEW: [/font] The Allies have a good position around the map after their early battle downing 3 IJN fleet CVs off of Pearl in surface combat. They've been pushed back out of Burma and are now grouping a massive air force in India to begin battling the Japanese centered in the Magwe/Mandalay area. They have already taken oil points at Magwe to 1/3 of the original value in a persistent and successful strategic bombing campaign, mostly conducted at night.

In China the Allies have lost an incredible amount of troops, but hold good defensive lines from Tuyun to Chikhiang and into the Central plains. They look to be sending troops toward the mountains to form solid defensive positions there. Sian is still filled with a huge Chinese Army and an even bigger IJA stack, and the attack will come once Chinese troops have been weakened just a bit more through the air.

In the Pacific the Allies hold Wake and Port Moresby, and it's likely they will continue to do so. I will set up defensive lines slightly farther back than historical and fight for North New Guinea and the marinas as the first priority. The North is also unusual in the there is no Japanese presence in the Aleutians. No Allied movements are apparent in this area, and base building seems minimal.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]DEI: [/font] In the South the last dot bases are getting cleaned up as troops disperse to fill out defensive positions on the major islands.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]CHINA: [/font] Small IJA units are herding stray Chinese troops in the South and East while troops in Sian are poised for a major assault on Sian. Troops at Chikhiang are static, btu have crossed the river, so await only reinforcement so continue pushing here.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]PACIFIC: [/font] Port Moresby is swept relentlessly whenever Allied fighters appear there. A few small bases in the Solomons are occupied, but the first defensive line will begin around Lae and go across New Britain to Rabaul and Namatani. No sign of Allied offensives here as yet.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] This is the major fighting zone now. The Allies continue to battle in the air with a good number of US groups added to the British.

Port Blair is invaded on the 3rd and troops get ashore in good order without major disruption. It'll be another day or two before they attack once all transports are unloaded. Allied CVs have been in the area but are not currently seen either by LR search or Glen subs near Colombo. The reconfigured KB, with recently upgraded groups is hanging near the coast between Port Blair and Victoria Point for LBA support and to stay out of range for a surprise lunge by Allied CVs. The next few days will be interesting, as again the unexpected occurs in this game. [;)]

This game has been so different from the beginning with the loss of the overwhelming power the KB provides. Suddenly all areas are under threat as the Allies can dictate the game on the oceans.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]SUBS: [/font] My sub chain running from Colombo to just NW of Port Blair sees nothing coming, gets no shots at the massive Allied fleet running full speed toward Port Blair in the night.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] The plan was a surprise. Torsten is very aggressive. I knew if I laid some bait he'd come running. The bait had to be good enough, and I had to have enough power to take advantage if the plan worked. (I have no maps, unfortunately, to show exact placement of fleets).

I set the transports with little cover at Port Blair to unload troops. Two SAGs were nearby in front of the CVs to lure air strikes and guard the KB while preparing for runs on the Allied fleet if it should appear. I calculated how far the Allies could travel in one day and set the KB just outside that range between Port Blair and Victoria but close enough to provide CAP support to the SAGs. Over 100 crack zeros and some Oscars also provided LR CAP from land bases over the KB.

The Allies did dash in, and the morning strikes looked promising. Both US and Brit strikes went for the transport and SAGs. Over 30 SBD and 20 TBF were shot down as well as a number of escorts for the loss of a few xAKs. No surface combat ships were hit. Another phase in the afternoon would have left the Allies short of strike planes, fatigued and with low moral. Instead the catastrophic occurred again for the Japanese fleet.

I don't know how or during what period of the day this happened, but at some point the KB TFs reacted independently toward the Allied CVs, moving in and separating from each other along one 3 hex line SE of Port Blair. This had a number of terrible consequences for the Japanese fleet.

First, they moved into range of the Allied CVs, which they were not set to do. Two, their separation led to a lack of mutual support and split the offensive strikes into different groups. Third, this took the majority of the CVs out of range of the LBA support from the three expert groups at Victoria Point (the equivalent of what the three lost fleet CVs would have provided in CAP, thus evening out the battle quite a bit).

The result was another crippling loss for the IJN. The reaction is still a mystery. If it happened early, why did no strikes fly to the CVs from either side? I can only conclude it happened in the middle of the day between phases. If together, the Japanese strikes could have punched through much better and given a better account of themselves, likely for fewer planes lost. As it was, only a good hit on the Lexington causing an Ammo Storage explosion gave any consolation.

This shouldn't have been the battle. The battle should have been the next day between the surface fleets as intended. That combined with a dash away toward LBA cover by the KB could have evened the score a bit, but it was not to be. Instead the IJN lost Junyo, Zuiho and Shoho with the Shokaku crippled by 5 TT hits and the Ryujo also limping with float damage at 60+.

Alas, in love and war the best laid plans go awry.

The next day proved interesting, but this game will be even tougher now.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]SUBS: [/font] The subs catch nothing in spite of 7-8 patrolling the area.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] The phase of this battle I had hoped to engineer did in fact take place on July 5th. After the CV exchange the Allies were only 3-4 hexes from the IJN SAGs. I sent in everything, and the battles raged throughout the night. At one point a SAG of BBs engaged the US CVs, but couldn't get good hits for inexplicable reasons.

Still there was some success.

First an IJN SAG with 4 CA 4 DD met the Repulse and 4 CA 3 DD. The IJN left two CA in poor condition without serious damage to any ships.

Then the part that angers me, when Kongo, Haruna, Hiei and Kirishima plus Haguro and Nachi met the US CVs and didn't sink ANY of them. [:-][:@] The Lex did get another fish in her belly, which proved important, but this should have been a massacre, especially when it got to 5k yards at 53% moon!! Of course the BBs didn't even fire their secondary batteries which is a bunch of BS considering they had the chance to even the CV score in one fell swoop. Tell me if I'm wrong, but I'll include the entire combat report to hopefully give an idea of the close range and length of this battle that should have gone much more our way.

How does that battle even break off when it does at 8k yards (!!!) when visibility is listed to 11k???

I then had DDs AVOID combat with the Brit CVs. [8|]

The BBs then shot up the two wounded Allied cruisers further, so there was some good ammo left that could have been used on the CVs, apparently.

Then the BBs find the Lex detached from the CV TF and give her a little push before the CLs come in and put another fish in.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]RESULT: [/font] The attack I wanted materialized, and one US CV was taken down. It should have been a lot more. Those fast BBs caught the US fleet and had them at point blank range. This game simply doesn't allow for extreme circumstances to over-ride it's usual method of playing out those battles. Every piece of ammo in the Japanese fleet would have been unleashed on those CVs in any scenario approaching reality, and at least 3-4 should have been heavily damaged or sunk.

Instead, after two days of battling, the IJN comes out the supreme loser in this engagement. It's too bad it's not possible to over-ride certain functions like CV reaction, to say NEVER DO IT. In effect creating doctrine and drilling it into commanders that they have to stick to the plan. (I know not all did, but it sucks to lose everything because of this one small feature that is speculative at best in it's relevance to the game. Too much is at stake with CVs to let that much chance play a part). It's also too bad there is no special condition during which a ship will expend ALL of it's ammo, as in a surface engagement with CVs, rather than saving some for later. Even damaging those others could have let them be caught by other TFs and a few TT throne in to pile on.

I took a risk, set up a trap, and failed miserably. Of course I could have been more careful, played the game to not lose as quickly, let the Allies slowly grind me down, but this seemed a golden opportunity, and it turned out in that respect I was right. Whether it would work if run numerous times over and over taking chance differences into account is up to speculation. We'll never be able to control CV reaction, which is too bad. It leaves too much to chance.

The "CV" losses are irrelevant anyway and won´t change much. You have proven you know how to play defense. I think its time to start doing it now. I think he will try something bold early. Secure the Kuriles, DEI, Marianas. I bet you a beer he will try a fancy deep landing somewhere! [:D]

Not quite irrelevant! Thanks though, it's going to be very different trying to do it early with a lot less to spread around. Troops are already starting to go to deeper locations, btu there use isn't much this early to use.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]SUBS: [/font] No sub hits on damaged CVs! Amazing after this battle. Of course mine don't find Allied CVs or surface ships either.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] The aftermath of the battle of the Andaman Islands is as quiet as the days before it began. The Allied fleets retreat and there are no hits from subs on either side.

We have one little secret that is still viable, and I feel okay to speak of now after many days and resulting survival of some some very important assets. The Ryujo and Shokaku, battered and by all appearance lost during the battles, have managed to stay afloat and nearly gotten back to the Burma coast at Victoria Point!!! [&o][&o][&o]

I already have a fleet HQ there, am building the port and sending in the Combined fleet HQ from Hiroshima. The Shokaku has float damage in the 80s, high system damage, and is moving one hex at a time. The Ryujo is slightly better, with float in the 60s and it's already arrived in port and has been disbanded. The estimate for repairs that will get it to best seaworthiness is 65 days.

After Shokaku took 5 TT I was sure it was gone, and I'm sure Torsten thought so as well. So now at least if he splits CVs thinking we don't have much to challenge his fleets there could be a little shock when a 350-400 plane KB is still available. Not great, but better than nothing! [;)]

Total losses so far for each side:

IJN: CV Junyo, CVL Shoho and CVL Zuiho, DD Akatsuki.

Allies: CV Lexington, CA Portland, CA Northhampton

Bad for the IJN. Not a win. Not a complete disaster if Shokaku makes it.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]CHINA: [/font] In China the big news is the DA at Sian and the complete collapse of the Chinese defenses. After months of siege and bombing the Chinese had high disruption and little supply. They folded in a 6:1 with almost 50k in casualties! Ouch!

Sian has NO industry remaining. I will rebuild the oil and think about the HI but most likely not expand that either.

IJA troops will no move South. A holding force will be left in the North, largely made up of the most damaged units. The others will be aiming for the Tuyun vector. Some free units not tied to Chinese commands will move to the Pacific and other areas.

Torsten informed me has been ELECTED as a member of the local government, with the possibility of a seat in the Parliament! Congrats to him! He says it's a busy time and the game might naturally slow as a result. We'll see how it goes.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]SUBS: [/font] Allied subs have been making contact a lot and getting virtually no hits on IJN convoys.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] The two CVs are now comfortably nestled in Victoria Point port. [&o]

The port is halfway to a level 4, and as much naval support as I can muster is moved into the base. Each CV is listing just over 60 days to the best seaworthiness available without a shipyard. The Shokaku will lily need another two months in Singers once finished here, assuming no Allied port strikes intervene. I've got 200+ fighters covering the base now.

An IJA division was snuck up to Kalemyo to see if it could take the base and hold on. No supply is moving up here, so it looks like this wil be a futile mission. I'll move on the base and then retreat across the river, eventually setting up in good defensive territory.

This gave Central Burmese bases a break as bombing focused exclusively on this unit for days. I also got to test out Tojos on LR CAP, but the Allied sweeps prove tough and get about 1:1 with our mixed plane CAP. He's got Lightnings in theatre now, which do slightly better when they come over on the 15th.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]CHINA: [/font] In the North units begin to shift back to the rail line. In the South Liuchow falls and another couple Chinese units are trashed. The Tuyun defenses look stout, at almost 100k troops, as are those in the center around Chikhiang, so some maneuver might be needed in all areas to make any further gains.

Air units will transition to Burma primarily as well as the DEI and the Pacific.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]SUBS: [/font] Neither sub force has been very active lately, but on the 19th two IJN subs in different areas hit small AMCs. Now that I see Torsten's penchant for poorly organized (or no) escorts, I will have to begin taking commerce raiding more seriously. I've basically been conserving fuel and subs for later use as combat scouts and hunters, but I'll put a small group of them together to sit near OZ and see what they can catch.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]OZ: [/font] Allied troops retreat past Katherine as the Japanese walk in from Wyndham and begin to move NW on Darwin.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]CHINA: [/font] Tienshui falls after a week of the Chnese units being broken down into ineffective shells. The North is secure and troops will move to a defensive stance here, keeping the LOC open for oil and supplies to flow. The Chinese tactics of suiciding wrecked corps across rivers continues at Sian as two Corps cross into 1k AV of troops. I don't think Torsten realizes this will only give him more mouths to feed as his supply becomes more limited and is essentially a counterproductive strategic policy.

The South and East are becoming solidified by intense bombing of his small raiding parties behind the lines and moves on the SE portions around Liuchow. The rail line is now connected and there are no interlopers trying to block it soon.

One small piece of the Chinese air force showed up and downed 9 Kates near Liuchow on the 20th. They apparently retreated to Chungking, as a few days later after crushing the Tuyun fields the IJAAF hit Chungking hard, destroying about 4 fighters n the ground and damaging a bunch more. A continued strategic bombing campaign trig to destroy supply will continue to hit the fields.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]PACIFIC: [/font] Banshees showed up and hit two xAK near Cape Gloucester when the Rufes guarding the area didn't bring enough to the party on the 19th. A massive CAP of 20 Kittyhawks and 50 P-39 showed up at Port Moresby as well. A5M2 from Madang and Rabaul came over in waves, weakening the defenders on the 22nd and getting about 1:1, then finding a few on the ground when Bettys hit the following day, but no CAP was up. This hit and run is typical of Torsten so far. Now that I know more I'm prepared and can exploit this tactic with a quick response.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] The division attacking Kalemyo created the unexpected and welcomed concentration of all Allied air strikes for nearly two weeks now, letting more support, supply and fresh airframes get to units in the Irrawaddy Valley. I'm also nearing readiness to employ some offensive groups against nearby bases of Cox's Bazaar and Chittagong.

It looks like an Aussie division and other smaller units have been sent to deal with the situation at kalemyo on the ground, and they will arrive and knock us out shortly.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]OZ: [/font] Katherine pops over to the Empire without being invested as yet. Troops move toward Darwin.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]CHINA: [/font] Just moving troops around and varying bombing runs to Tuyun, Chikhiang and Chungking.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]PACIFIC: [/font] Banshees are behaving very historically. A whole flight of 9 was shot down near Long Island along with some Kittyhawks.

[font="Microsoft Sans Serif"]BURMA: [/font] On the 25th a LR CAP over Kalemyo netted me about 43 bombers and another 39 fighters for 26 lost fighters. Not bad. I let him get comfortable but tired, then threw all of my fresh groups in. Even got 7 P-38s reported downed. [:)] No bombing runs came in on the 26th! [8D]

On the 28th and 29th a few Fullmars came in to assess the situation. No LR CAP was on. No other bombing happened until the 30th when the oil field missions were resumed at night. Newly arrived flak took a small tithe from the attackers, coming a bit low at 6k. he did get 5 hits to the oil.

The division at Kalemyo was rudely kicked out of the next by commonwealth troops. Its a bit beat up, but nothing too bad. I'll leave it in the forest there for now. This mini-mission was a successful diversion allowing me to wrest control of the air and inflict some decent losses on Allied air forces.
