Unit's having a firing status but not firing?

Command Ops: Battles From The Bulge takes the highly acclaimed Airborne Assault engine back to the West Front for the crucial engagements during the Ardennes Offensive. Test your command skills in the fiery crucible of Airborne Assault’s “pausable continuous time” uber-realistic game engine. It's up to you to develop the strategy, issue the orders, set the pace, and try to win the laurels of victory in the cold, shadowy Ardennes.
Command Ops: Highway to the Reich brings us to the setting of one of the most epic and controversial battles of World War II: Operation Market-Garden, covering every major engagement along Hell’s Highway, from the surprise capture of Joe’s Bridge by the Irish Guards a week before the offensive to the final battles on “The Island” south of Arnhem.

Remember that the status may stay there for 15 minutes after the firing event so that the human user can catch it.

So, usually, they simply don't see any targets and the status is just flashing between halted/dug in and firing to notify about old firing?
Though I got it with an unit that was supposed to be bombarding too.

Oftentimes I wonder about that too, but Dave explained in another thread that repeating actions are just logged once until a different one kicks in.

It's difficult. If you only retain the status for say a couple of minutes then the player will miss a lot of these while his focus is on one particular area. By the time he gets to look elsewhere it may appear all quite. On the other hand in the area of his prime focus it may be a bit misleading if he is unaware that these status indicators hang around until replaced or changed by some other action.
