The Courage Card

The development team behind the award-winning games Decisive Campaigns: From Warsaw To Paris and Advanced Tactics is back with a new and improved game engine that focuses on the decisive year and theater of World War II! Decisive Campaigns: Case Blue simulates the German drive to Stalingrad and into the Caucasus of the summer of 1942, as well as its May preludes (2nd Kharkov offensive, Operation Trappenjagd) and also the Soviet winter counter-offensive (Operation Uranus) that ended with the encirclement of 6th Army in Stalingrad and the destruction of the axis minor armies. With many improvements including the PBEM++ system, this is a release to watch for wargamers!

The Courage Card

Post by Bismarck2761 »

I find this a very useful card. If a sector of the front is quiet and Command Points otherwise go to waste, play on formations to get their morale up. Great for the minor Axis Allies. Fewer generals have Promotions, which is potentially of greater value, as it raises experience. I find myself rotating divisions peroidcally to commands that can raise experience (Promotions) and then back to generals whose points are better spent raising morale. Most generals (all?) can play Courage.

I quite like the 'Care for Troops' card... Raising readiness is useful after a few battles. And it raises morale...

reassigning units cost pp and command points. i think it costs readiness too. i am not sure if it is worth all those penalties.

I do the "Swaps" when both HQs are are 1 or 0 Command Points -- a common technique when you want to reassign (including, for example, to OKH, which commonly occurs). I haven't worried about the readiness hit. Readiness returns promptly. Moral and Experience are hrder to raise.

I do a lot of reassigning of units - probably because of bad play. :-)

Yes, Care is superior to Courage, but not as ubiquitous.
