resolution problems

Hi a have bought Distant World and The return of Shakuri. After installation it can`t run in a full resolution (I have a HD-Laptop with NVidia Geoforce
660M, Windows 8, .Net 4.0, Direct X 11). A dialogbox pops up and preteds that it can run only in a 1024x480 resolution wich is pretty poor for such a game.

Does anyone else have similar problems and solved them somehow?

I`ve however tryied all that crap: Updates the newest, install direct 9b, .net 3,5 ,etc. I never had a game in such poor quality before. Again a good idee but catastrophic implementation?

I run it at 1280 x 1024.
