Kickstarter?

Post by capex_MatrixForum »

I know we are in finish lane, but i have a silly question: MWIF is a impressive project concerning simulation, AI, etc... But why not consider the Kickstarter option to boost the project with his game enthusiast?

I do not know what you mean by Kickstarter.[&:]

Where have you been hiding? Kick Starter is the way a good number of games get their monetary backing these days.

You should take a look at it.

If it was named kickfinisher, it might be appropriate.

Yep, although if needed, Steve could take a look into it, since the game is not ended, just the first release is about to come, the AI may take months or years yet.

I think that Steve once indicated that his primary purpose in completing the not-so-pleasant hard grunt work of producing the MWiF exoskeleton was so that he could reap the pleasurable reward of programming the MWiF AI. Now that the body under the sheet is starting to twitch I seriously doubt he would want to share his lollypop with people who only have money to offer.

(But if you share his vision and have the requisite programming skills I'm sure he'll let you have a lick)

Surely though, programming the AI for a massive game like WiF is more than a one man job? Kickstarter could potentially raise the funding that would allow him to hire additional programmers (professional programmers) that could then collaborate on the project, thus releasing the greatest computer wargame ever created...blah blah, etc, etc. Seriously though, I think KS would be a great idea for this.
