Are the green hexes offboard a setup area. Units then move onto the map in turn 1?

Gerry

The leader Lt Lodashik, and squads, just moved from N8. When a leader activates he can activate the hexes surrounding him as well. The green hexes show the extent of his activation range. The purple hexes are to remind you the these troops can activate before the end of this impulse.
Partial hexes are valid for play.

I see a log of felled trees and car tires? I might be wrong.

Gerry

Yes, that's a cluttered hex and affect movement.

AT gun is upside down...lol

If you look carefully you will see the CA arrow in the TLH corner of the counter, hence the orientation of the counter.

That's correct.

If you look closely you might notice that the hex numbers are upside down as well. This is because the maps act the same way as if they were a real board. So to get the proper side to face north you sometimes have to rotate the board. Adds to board game feel.

From now on, I've seen fusiliers, tanks, AT gun, mortar, machine gun, leaders, plane and a little girl. Nothing seems to be missing, and I agree with wodin: super job. This game will be a no brainer for me when it will be release.

Heh. I reported that as a bug. I was wondering why it was never fixed.

Gorgeous. Really looking forward to the release. I really hope that after the release Lock N Load sells / licenses the engine to a developer that will release expansions and / or follow-ups with a bit more alacrity...

Certainly am...;)

If a game looks good I can actually be an asset or try and be one..though I'm sure some developers on here think otherwise..mumbles something and ops.. :)

The units in "Surrounded" look like SS units. It seems odd to me that they would only have a 5 morale, which is the same as the front line Russian units. I would have expected maybe a 7 or at a minimum a 6 morale for SS infantry.

The SS in LnL are not supermen. [;)] They do have some special abilities though. Where normal troops are automatically killed if they are meleed while shaken, SS troops will attempt to rally first. Sounds small but it is a big advantage.

Fair enough, they were not supermen. Although it is a historical fact that as units, they were fanatical, and since they are historically fanatical units, they tended to take casualties before breaking in comparison to your average squad. If the feature of them having the ability to rally in specific situations is advantage, than I guess that makes a difference. I am not familiar with the LnL system, so maybe morale is part of a dynamic mix that is different than what I am used to seeing in other games.

Just another note, even with the rally feature you mentioned, IMO and experience with tactical game, the SS should have a elite morale equal to the guards units, which is 6.

Yes, the screen shot with the SS units. We have all been waiting a long time for this game, and from the previews, I am sure it will not disappoint. Its looks like a fantastic computer version of a small tactics simulation on the eastern front. I could not be happier to see it in these final stages of development. Maybe the screen shot with the SS is not intended to be part of the Stalingrad release. Just throwing in my 2 cents FWIW.[8D]
