Overlord I - Day 39
Camp Score:
Captured a bit more ground, a Rocket launcher and radar site up in the cherbourg area. More Airfields showing up, the first airfield should be ready to be used in the next day or two.

Overlord I - Day 40
Day 40
Raid Map:
BC has gone back to bombing orange rail heads in belgium as my "Target Damage Points" are starting to fall need to keep them up as they are easy points. BC also seems to need every second night off they loss Morale very fast. Trying to only fly with above 15 planes and 60% morale, may need to lower it to 55%
Mediums hitting close in airfields for some more damage points.
Heavy's are running two raids. 1 after a not well defended Armour Group and the other to knock out rail near by. Both raids will run down the same stream. At the same time I am trying to fly a fighter sweep down both sides of the stream around the front of the stream and back down the other side. FS is the best Spitfire Squadrons avaliable.
FB Fighter Bombers: 1 large raid heading directly to a coastal unit

Overlord I - Day 41
Day 41:
49% cloud over france. Going to take the chance today, all heavy's are going to attack 1 armour group back a little from the front. Only has about 20 HAA protecting it and I will be bombing from 19900, I expect to have a number of planes damaged. Good news is that most of the units that got hammered a few days ago are almost ready to get back into the fight.
FB's: massed against one infantry group again
BC: Still after orange rail
MeD: All having a rest

Overlord I - Day 41
The dark day:
After talking to the German player about how well he did on this particular day I found something interesting.
When I was watching the replay I got hit hard over the target and then I assumed that the rest of the planes destroyed where crash landings on the way home as the replay failed and I did not reload it to watch them return.
From what I was told I should have watched. According to my opponent when my bombers had got back past the coast another raid of B-17's appeared and flew all the way down near paris and then returned home without bombing and this was the raid that lost most of the B-17's shot down.

RE: Overlord I
That's ominous news about the rogue raid that bombed nothing. Any further info about that?
I was looking at the Campaign Summary of that Dark Day and I did find a silver lining amid all the doom and gloom - as a result of that day's combat, the Axis lost 67 pilots KIA, and an additional 60 WIA. That's 127 pilots removed from his next day's roll call. There's no way he can sustain that kind of pilot loss. His morale and fatigue numbers had to take a whack as well. I'm not saying that you didn't take a bad hit on Black 6/6. You did. But you hurt him badly, too.

Good news is that I had lost so few bombers up to that point. I had enough replacements to fill the units back up in about 2 days and there morale is almost back up to the 60% already.
I think you are right about his losses on that day, they may be really hurting him now
