Question about sound

Post by jjknap »

During the missions, will there just be music, or we hear some sound effects like rocket engines, mission control chatter, spacecraft beeps, etc.? Those type of effects were really cool in Buzz Aldrin's Race Into Space.

Also, how about giving us a new screen shot or two since we have to wait a bit longer to get the game [;)]

Thanks!

Hello jjknap,

Yes, SPM will feature both background music and sound effects during the missions. Our sound composers Christian and Demian are hard at work creating an original sound track for this game and gathering sound effects from old NASA footage [:)]

Regarding your request... I'm uploading two screens that Mauricio sent me last night straight from the 3D oven. Careful, they are still hot! [:D]

The screens show the Titan IIIC booster, which is carrying the transtage that will be used by a Gemini spacecraft in order to perform a circumlunar mission.

You won't believe me, but actually all the 3D models and the 3D renders have been done by a single guy who's not even working full-time on the game! Yes, the rest of us don't know how does he do it either [;)]

Not sure about the pre-order. I'm going to point Iain to this thread so that he can chime in.

The beta test is coming soon, we'll keep you all posted on this [:)]

Pre-ordering is something we'd love to do but currently the system doesn't support. The system is entirely designed to deliver something instantly and there is no mechanism to hold the details and deliver them later so structurally its a huge change. We're looking for a way to make it work but no promises.
