This is compiled from several people, including my partners. I don't take credit for any part of it, but I think is a good general note of our strategic position at this time:

The second battle of Coral Sea ends up being a draw. We lost Lexington and Yorktown to what is reported as one sunk and one severely damaged Japanese CVs. After our other victory at the, now called, first battle of Coral Sea where we lost one CV, the Saratoga, to, what is looking like, two large CVs and one medium CV. This leaves the Japanese with just either the Soyru or Hiryu operational in March of 1942. We don’t like our losses, but the strategic implication of losing over 80% of the KB striking power is daunting to our opponents. Yes, the one severely damaged CV may make it back for repairs, but those will be six months or more. The Enterprise will be out of repairs in less than a month, and her, combined with the Hornet and the Wasp in less than two months along with the British carriers in the India area should be enough to keep the rest of the smaller CVLs and CVEs at bay.

CONUS:

APD Colhoun is sent to Balboa as we are going to get a number of ships over the next couple of weeks.

AM Bayfield is sent from San Francisco to LA to escort the new APs from there to San Francisco.

CANAL ZONE:

TK Camden arrives at Balboa. Formed up with APD Little for the 11 day run to LA.

NOPAC:

Nothing to do here.

CENTPAC:

AV Langley is out of the repair docks at Pearl. She survived Mania and is now ready to add to the war effort! Formed her up with the AO Pecos and the AM Vireo. Will be sent to Pago Pago for further distribution from there. AM Vireo will return to Pearl.

The BBs under upgrade at Pearl will be ready in 10 days. Do we want to send them to help pound the troops at PM?

SOPAC:

The BB load rearm rate with the AKEs at Townsville will slow our bombardment schedule down a bit, but we should be able to pound PM 2-3 times a week on a non-repeating schedule.

TF287 is moving away from Rossel Island until the dust clears. The AVP and AVD there wouldn’t last long with the warships in the area. The other sets should be in position at Rennell Island and Stewart Island tomorrow. We can then move some search aircraft forward.

ANZAC:

The AKEs at Townsville are disbanded and the escorts sent back to Sydney. Harvey, they are 16 knot escorts. If you need them for your upcoming operation, please feel free to intercept them and use them.

The AKEs can only load ½ of the BBs ammo in a day. And it took quite a bit of their supply. Geesh, BB rounds cost a lot!

CHINA:

10th Construction is sent to Chengtu to help build the AF there for training.

RUSSIA:

Nothing to do here.

What are your thoughts on stopping the BB bombardments for the moment, and send the Hornet SE to pick up any stragglers? They can't have that much air cover left, and probably can't conduct flight opps on that last CV...my only concern is the enemy fleets still show CVs present, which I don't necessarily believe. It may not be worth it, as she is the only operational CV in the SOPAC at present..

It is going to take a couple of days to rotate the BBs anyways, and, now, we have more escorts for them and DD's for Harvey to use!

Very true. The upside to losing CVs is freeing up 8-10 DDs per sinking.

5 APR 42

CONUS:

Four APDs are finished converting at Seattle, they are sent to San Francisco for use there and to send to Pago Pago to help move troops around.

VMD-1 arrives at San Diego, standard training regimen applied.

CANAL ZONE:

SS Growler arrives at Balboa, sent to Midway for patrol assignment. Current captain is sufficiently aggressive and naval skilled to keep in command.

NOPAC:

Nothing to do here.

CENTPAC:

We will be using more PTs in the future and they won’t be needed at Pearl. Returned them to the PT pool.

Two APDs are finished converting at Pearl, they are sent to Pago Pago for use there.

SOPAC

Hornet group was not set to follow ASW TF. Fixed that and had the ASW TF remain on station.

Refueled PTs from the xAK dropping supplies at PM. They are now full and ready for any infiltrators! <evil grin>

With a Japanese CV just north of Lunga, the AG destined for Ndeni is returning to Noumea for now.

Same with TFs at Luganville and Efate. The Luganville TFs are going to Noumea to wait on things to clear. The one at Efate only had 80 or so supply on it. It is just going back to Pago Pago to get more troops.

AVP and AVD for Rossel Island is sent in a round-about path to get there to set up another seaplane base.

VP-42 takes two Aircraft frames and two patrol pilots as replacements. Also, shifted their patrol area 60 degrees clockwise to cover the gap that the more forward patrol aircraft are covering in case the CV in the SE solomans goes further south or east.

ANZAC:

DD Mustin finishes upgrade, Harvey, this one is yours.

CHINA:

Nothing to do here.

RUSSIA:

Nothing to do here.

6 APR 42 results have KXVIII putting three fish into a Fuso class BB with heavy damage and fire reported near Kendari. CA Vincennes which was damaged in our last CV battle, was going to Melboune for repairs and had a torp put into her, her flot went up to 59 with significant systems damage, but her engines still produce 2/1 movement and she is three hexes from Sydney. Kept her on Mission speed as there are subs about, hopefully she will make port without becoming an artificial reef just off of Sydney. Giving Harvey a chance to change if he see fit when he processes his part.

Prepping the independent rgt at Kodiak for Adak Island, as the Japanese are doing the same. Should have it on Adak within a week with some BB support from San Francisco at Dutch. Will see what happens!

The game shows the Fuso as sunk, that is four BBs (two are Kongos), and 3-5 KB carriers. Beginning to feel pretty good about this. Going to be a long war, as things are delayed quite a bit into 1943...
