Thanks again for the interesting AAR. I check every day for an update.

I noticed on your 6/13/44 Campaign Summary that you put another 100+ Axis pilots out of action. You are eating him up with attrition. Keep your foot on his neck and don't let him up.

Cripes,
I think I have him on the ropes in the air. I had the advantage over him from the start, better planes, good skilled pilots with high morale. So far he has lost 1325 pilot's half to WIA, seeing that we start just before Overlord, I think he is going to have a deeper pool of pilots than I expect. He also does not fly major defence attacks every day, if I average out for 5 days he is lossing (15) KIA pilots and (25) WIA + MIA a day.

The German advantage is that he knows that my attacks must be Overlord targets so he can strip HAA from any non Overlord target if he want's. He also does not need to keep his fighters where they start the game and move them as far forward as his bases allow. Troop's can be loaded up with HAA and LAA to make flak traps.

My biggest problem is trying to cause troop damage every turn. While still hitting Rail, PRI AF and Radar. When I hit his troop their disruption jumps for a turn, but drops very fast even with all rail yards leading to the troops at major damage.

After writing this I think I need to hit the rail yards harder and get them up to 100% and see if that make a diffrence.

Camp Score:
I am averaging a 116 - 127 point gain each day at this rate I am going to lose big time as 119 x 77 days = only 8932 point verses his 29508.

Can you change your line of approach to get around some of his patrols, some of you LR Fighters could enter via the Nederlands and still reach Belgian targets.
Also, are your Normandy bases capable of handling Bombers yet? You might get interesting angles from there as well.

I hate the sweepers going down to strafe, should be a setting which allows you to chose. I try to target RADAR for sweeps to keep away from FLAKtraps.

Overlord I - Day 47

DAY 47
Mission List:

Yes I now have bomber Typhoon and Tempest flying from the normandy area. Most of the raids are up and down don't seem to be lossing as many to crashes returning to base does take a little longer to repair though.

At the moment I am trying to hit his standing patrols before the bombers run in. He has had some good luck latly.

Funny how typos jump out at you, look at raid 19, 405 Squardon RCAF.

Mission Report:

Most Raids worked well, #9 got hit hard as the germans sent almost all his interceptors against them, they where not as under escorted as they looked. They had Tempests flying with them.

Overlord I - Day 48

Post by StoneAge »

DAY 48 D-Day +14
His troops have me bottled up in normandy. I really need to do some damage to get the troops to start falling back to their next defence line.

After his tactic of sending most of his fighters against my FB yesterday I am going to set a trap for him if he does it again today. I have two FB raids heading for the same targets they had yesterday. What I hope he does not notice is that each raid has only 1 FB group and a heap of fighters along for the ride.

BC is heading to hasselt with the lancasters new rail target that just happens to have a panzer troop sitting there

Heavys and mediums hitting troops along the coast. My bombing has been very poor lately and with about 1/2 my heavys grounded. I hope this raid works better
