Do mortars shoot at tanks?

Sounds ridiculous, I know, but bear with me.

Chinese normal corps have 54 81mm mortars in their TOE with anti-armour value of 3. Suppose the corps loses all of its AT guns and 75/105mm field guns and retains all of its mortars. Now, if such a corps fights a Japanese tank unit, will the mortars shoot at the attacking tanks? Is their anti-armour value used in fire calculations for direct fire?

I do not think you can observe it in sandbox tests, but I was thinking maybe someone with the knowledge of WITP:AE code can answer this question?
