Windows 7 Quick Link to widescreen?

Post by mariandavid »

Have just replaced XP with Windows 7 and installed and updated WITP and then the followed previous advice - replacing exe. with the usual -px and-py,. But then says use the Quick Link - which I did in XP - but where is there a quick link or anything that points to the amended executable in Windows 7?[&:]

Why replacing the .exe?! If you've installed it on Windows 7, you got as shortcut; simply right-click it and go to properties and there it is. No change really to add the flags there.

Twas not running from the shortcut - have no idea why but did from the programe list> No idea why but all well now. Gave me a sense of deja vu from doing the same thing on XP half a decade ago!

Well... in this case, if there's no shortcut, create one; depending on your CPU and Vid, as well as display; I got a 19" and the following settings:

-fd -px1680 -py1050 -archive -altFont -deepColor -skipVideo

Unless running one of the beta patches. Then you need to use the shortcut in the Beta2 folder which appears when the patch is installed. Add the switches to that one.
