An odd war

Post by hfl13 »

In my current human game the Dhayut (20 colonies) declared war on me (42 colonies)- the homeworlds are very close and my intention was to grab a Dhayut human colony that my enemy had reached befor me. My first two attacks with 10 capital ships (CS) (6000 firepower each fleet)failed to overwhelm the mix of small 5-8 opponents who avoided destruction and were replaced fast from the homeworld. My Titan beams had serious problems finishing the much weaker fleets (is this something racial?) and my invasion troops were never able to get to the planet without oppostion. Therefore I created a new bigger 800 CS category with Death Rays and 2 Advanced Fighter bays. The front was quite limited and there were no Dhayut attacks.

Therefore I concentrated more on colonizing and finding ships and devastator projects while waiting on having enough new CSs for a third try to advance against the Dhayut.

Suddenly they wanted peace (in this very unbloody war) which was not in my interest without gaining a few planets but I demanded subjugation and they agreed (surprise !).
