Luftwaffe - Below Strength

Post by BigDuke66 »

I'm not sure how close we are to realistic numbers but I think in some places it fits very good so I assume that we can use historical numbers as guide.

(Numbers are from 2.9.1939 so casualties may already be in those)
Luftflotte 1 & 4 that were directly involved in Case White had 1745 planes:
Luftflotte 1 in North-East Germany
1109, in detail:
99 Hs126, 281 Do17, 5 He46, 9 He45, 286 Bf109, 32 Bf110, 185 He111, 18 Ju88, 154 Ju87, 40 Hs123

Luftflotte 4 in South-East Germany
636, in detail:
39 Hs126, 23 He46, 231 Do17, 3 He45, 189 Bf109, 31 Bf110, 120 Ju87

But planes with longer range from other Luftflotten were also involved, to what extend I couldn't track down.
Also some units of the so called "Lehrdivision"(260 planes) participated in Case White, how many I don't know.

In the game we have only 1410, that already leaves us 335 planes short(mainly Do17, Me109 & He111) what is 19,2%, combat ready planes in those two airfleets were around 13% so it seem no to bad but as said:
1. We miss units from other airfleets completely.
2. We miss the combat training units of the Lehrdivision
3. All units start with 100% so no planes should miss at all

Besides that fact that I(and I bet many others to) would like to see air units at least split up similar in DC:CB, the current amount of planes should at least be raised to match 1745, this would need:
Hs126(Using it also for Hs123, He46, He45) = -22(Yes to much)
Do17 = 167
He111 = 85(Here it should be checked what version the participating units flew. In gam the values a steange already as the P is the btter armed version but in reality it was the H)
Ju88 = 18
Bf109 = 90(there were 120 109D in both airfleets, maybe those could be brought in too although I'm not sure if values differ enough to warrant that, main differenc was the speed as the normal Jumo210 hat only around 2/3 of the PS of the later used DB601)
Bf110 = 3
Ju87 = -6(Yes to much)

I guess the small numbers can be ignored but the bigger values for Do17, He111 & Bf109 should be added to the current units, and preferably in new units and not raising the already too large units as the Luftwaffe needs more flexibility.

Attached here is the German Airforce OOB at the time of Case White as calc file, rename the extension from txt to ods and it should work on most office suites.
Note that al air units are listed, not only those that participate in Case White.
