Sack Monty, or Bradley or Ike!!!

IMVHO, your 4E bombers havent suffered a lot.

Is now the time to use them to blast the German front line?
(Now I read your mission list [:D])

You probably havent done too badly compared to real life.

Overlord I - Day 48

Post by StoneAge »

The onrush of the American tanks
With the Operation Cobra, launched on 25 July, the Allied Forces broke through the German Normandy front, west of Saint-Lô. On 29 July, Coutances was taken and American armoured divisions rushed southward. The Germans attempted to reconstitute a new front, but there was a lack of troops, and the defence lines were driven from the field by the Americans. In the meantime the 2nd and 3rd Armoured Divisions trapped 7,000 German soldiers in a pocket in Roncey. 2,500 men will manage to withdraw westward until the evening of 29 July. The next day, the Combat Command B of the 4th Armoured Division was in front of Avranches. The American tanks entered the city, cleared off by the Germans on 31 July.

This is the time line I am looking at the moment. Something should happen by the 22nd July as my invasion was 3 days early. It is currently the 17th of June so there could be another 30+ days locked in normandy.

Top Pilots:

Col. Don J.M. Blakeslee just can't seem to get his "Double Ace" been on 9 a long time now.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Donald_Blakeslee
He had accounted for 15.5 kills in the air and 2 more on the ground.
Sgt. E. Harrington could be our first "British Ace" Flying an american Mustang

Highest scoring British pilot in a British plane F/L G.O.L. Dyke with 3 in a Mosquito N.F.XIX

AC Lost:
Most of my losses came from AA while my FS had a little success. My FB's going in at 500 did a lot more damage than when they start their attacks from 8000+. They hit stuff on the ground not just uped the disruption, they destroyed about 20 pz IV tanks this turn.

Raid Map:

light day again today a few FB raids flying with the best of the best fighter cover.

My main mission today is to jump his patrol, over the past few days he has been putting a patrol of a few Staffels in the area of the green circle. My Plan is to put enough planes into the air to get this patrol up and then sweep that area with my best 2 P-51D FG, lead at 24500 and its cover at 29500 hopefully he will be there
