Military multihex buildings

Military multihex buildings
After completing those train icons I thought about finishing up that project I started with the buildings in the Ter61 file...they were originally imported from SPWW2 and didn't display correctly on SPWAW maps.
What I did was re-create all the icons in the proper size, and also to modify many so that they could be joined to form large, continuous structures for urban maps. I re-worked a few so that they sit within the 7-hex area better, and by clearing a hex (or 2, or 3) a few others are ideal for placing in 'special' locations (like when you
need a structure that only occupies the lower 5 hexes, etc). And I also edited the 'star-wars' buildings that were in the file, removing the radar dishes and other non-WW2 era features.
There's probably about a day or two of work remaining (mostly 'SP-Fixing') before they're finished, but I'd like to know if there's any interest among designers. I believe I have a solution for the main problem of getting the files
distributed: if the consensus is that the files are worth incorporating into SPWAW, we can ask Leo to include them in a future H2H patch.
I uploaded the maximum zoom level (Ter61z4.shp) here: http://home.cfl.rr.com/lagoon/upload/ter61z4.ZIP if anyone wants to check them out. As always, comments and suggestions are more than welcome.

Panzer Leo agreed to include it in the next H2H patch. Look here: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32695
I'm working full tilt on it now. Besides correcting the faulty icon placement issue I've made wholesale changes to several structures. A few of the 'multihex' buildings in the file only covered 1,2 or 3 hexes so I added on to them. I also edited a bunch of the square/rectangular buildings so that when placed next to each other they form seemless, urban blocks. This is the project I started last summer, and its 90+% completed.
Here's a couple screenshots:

Hey tracer...good work!
What about adding some european castles and such stuff too? I planned to add some myself but never found the time to make some. Same goes for more mediterranean looking buildings.
What about listing the shape file numbers that we all use for adding stuff, so that we don´t add stuff to the same shape files!
Hauptmann Jake should drop in here as well!
For example the wooden winter buildings that I made, were added to the normal wooden building file Ter26.
Some time ago I made a small set of (converted from other SPWAW buildings) jungle huts, added to file Ter82!
I plan to add a couple of different new tree types (alley trees, mediterranean, saplings, ect.) to file Ter90, as the shapes there a put into layer 6 (trees) on SPWAW maps.
What are you guys planning?:)

I also added icons to the Ter82 (single, wooden) file; see this thread: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=32385
It should be easy to consolidate both of our efforts into one file though.
Since it is unrealistic to expect end-users to switch SHP files when playing certain maps, there is a need to get the various updated buildings packed into one set of SHPs.

thanks
now that more and more people exploit the custom shape making cabilities for SPWAW it appears to be the right time to keep an overview of who is doing what (or has done) and filling into the various available shape files!;)
tracer:
Ter61: Various industrial and military buildings. Centering that wasn´t done originally is now corrected and enables use of the stuff finally!:)
Maps/scenarios that used the original stuff before, need to be checked and probably reworked by designers.
Ter82: (Single Wooden Building "Use1") New railcar shapes added
Completely new stuff, so there´s no compatibility issue with any existing SPWAW scenarios/maps.
--------------------------
RockinHarry:
Ter26: Winter wooden buildings added to existing summer (..) buildings. (compatibility with ALL existing scenarios, campaigns ect. preserved!)
Ter82: (Single Wooden Building "Use1") New jungle buildings/huts added. Completely new stuff, so there´s no compatibility issue with any existing SPWAW scenarios/maps.
I don´t mind putting the stuff elsewhere tracer!;)
Ter86 (Sngl Hex User - "a" key) and
Ter90 (MegaCam Sngl Hex Custom Terrain - "~" key)
I plan to add some stuff (trees,...) to one or the other at a later time.
----------------------------
Hauptmann Jake:
Ter26: Wooden Buildings
I´ve not yet checked the file, but I think buildings are completely replaced by new winter versions. That means they´re not compatible with scenarios other than those made by Hauptmann Jake currently.
Please correct me when I´m wrong!;)
..............
-----------------------
Please anybody who has made new stuff or is planning to make some, fill in here!:)
Improved SHP files
Yes this is really great stuff.
I am very impatient to get a completely updated file with all these goodies. This will increase again the pleasure of designing maps.
Thanks for that.

Sorry I have been out for some time.. Now idon't know what is discussed about and where!
All of these winter buildings are the same of yours... They're just moved from icon slot to another. I replaced the same looking summer wooden buildings. I wanted to make it easier to have them in game.... I am not very good in map editing questions! They should be compatible (same icon, just snow in its roof) with all scenarios.

In the meantime I also noticed that your Ter26 file seems to be the same that I contributed to Panzer Leo´s H2H mod, but you added the Z4 file only! Feel free to add the other zoom levels as well, otherwise the winter buildings disappear in higher zoom levels!
Select wooden building (0), then after "SHIFT-1", map makers can access the winter wodden buildings, starting with nr.75 (or76?). This is the only way (beside Freds editor) to place the winter wooden buildings. Have fun.
