It fixes my issue. I'm in-game right now. I've started both the tutorial and generated an entirely new galaxy with 700 stars without any sort of problems.

Thank you to the Distant Worlds development team for your quick and dedicated responses and for the hotfix. Thank you also to all community members who have helped out!

Erik, please be aware that having the Hotfix 1.9.0.1 update installed makes the Updater on the splash screen try to download the original 1.9.0.0 exe version as an update - which fails naturally. Not an issue but it may confuse some people.
