Need more background music?

I love the Distant Worlds music, but after playing for so many hours it gets repetitive. Here is a great source of music I found.

Eve Online soundtrack:

Got any others you want to share?

At this point you could put the Master of Orion 2 music into the playlist.

The OST from the X series is also great for the game - I've taken the music folder from Albion and removed any battle music and such and it sounds great.

You could try Hearts of Space: http://www.hos.com/

It is subscription based, but sorta neat. I tried it before and found the music a little too "mellow" for my tastes.

Most Deep Trance, Downtempo and Ambient without vocals (which is most of it) at http://www.ektoplazm.com/ works great in my opionion. And everything is free (with the possibility to donate).

Hehe, just imagine playing DW to 'The Wall'...hmmm...I have that album. [:D]

The soundtrack from Mechwarrior 2 would be a good fit as well.

We don't need no escort ships
We don't need no wave weapons
No nekros stone in the cargo bay
Hey! Pirates! Leave them ships alone!

A bit far fetched :P

I have the original Homeworld soundtrack in my music folder.. fits brilliantly. Nothing like the imperial battle music to bring to mind massive lumbering ships duking it out with weapons hotter than the sun. Homeworld 2 was great, but the music was half as good and there was never a sense of that slow, lumbering movement as a massive laser cannon aligns with a fleeing enemy.
