PA BaseForce unit Mindanao

Post by btd64 »

This is ironman #10. as you can see from the date it is pretty late for a PA base force unit to still be on Mindanao. the IJA unit has been attacking this unit since 1/42. Just wondering why its still there[:D]

What patch level are you using?
In latest beta, I fixed an issue where a '0' AV unit kept retreating rather than dying.
This may be the same thing

I have this happening in my game also. I started on 6 Apr and use the betas within a day or two of when they come out. In game time I am now at 21 Mar 43. I am playing a personally modified Babes 28.

On Mindanao I have the 102 PA Inf and 3rd PA Constabulary still hanging around.

On Java I have the Batavia KM Base Force and the 1st KNIL Regt still there.

In Malaya I have the 22nd Indian Brigade still there.

These forces have AVs which is different to the initial post. When I get a chance, I'll look at your specific save.

Thanks. If you need anything else, I have saves and reports for every game turn. Just seems to me that these units should have gone away long ago.

The units on Java do have 0 AV values when the units are displayed, value of 2 shows in my current turn when being bombarded. They have been either bombarded or attacked by part of the 21st Div for quite some time. After so long they get to be just part of the landscape and I pay no more attention to them.

Ok, I only checked the ones in Malaya and PI. They should be losing devices as they have no supply and are isolated.

Michaelm - I've been checking tracker for the units mentioned from 1 Mar 42 through 28 Feb 43. The 22nd Indian Brigade, the 102 PA Inf, and the 3rd Pa Constabulary have not lost any infantry or support devices during this time, but the infantry and support have been very, very slowly becoming disabled. All other devices have withered away. They have been sitting in the same hex they are now in the whole time.

The Dutch units have been under bombardment which to me explains their loss of most all their devices.

If you would like any additional info, saves, etc., just let me know.

Edit: attached is save dated 4-30-42.

The proper sequence for the devices should be disabled and then destroy the disabled. The non-squad devices are probably going thru this sequence quickly as there are fewer of them than the squads (inf and support). I am looking at this now, and may have something to try later.

The base hasn't been taken because the IJA unit has no assault value. Funny that the 'base capture' sweep code hasn't take over it.

Here is an updated EXE that can be unzipped into Beta directory (1123m).
Tweaked Isolated units without supply can lose more devices
Fixed Retain extra data from fragment when parent restored from fragment
Fixed Auto-base capture not kicking in if non-combat friendly unit present

I'll make a installer later in week.

Thanks! Your support is very much appreciated.

I'll get it running and see if those units will eventually fade away.
