In what army can you find five hot women all in one picture? The Israeli of course....i wonder if this was just a random sample. I don't ever remember seeing this in my military days, but BAM's are generally not as feminine.

I was in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities in 1979-80 while serving with UNEF II. Since military service is compulsory for Israeli youth of both genders, I can guarantee there is a high proportion of hot women in the service. [8D]
Don't know why the high command is upset about their young soldiers who are just "thinking outside the box".[;)]

I think what he was trying to say that Human Papiloma Virus is a cause of oral/throat cancer not that it was the established cause in his case (he was also a multi-decade smoker and drinker). He is actually right about HPV being a proven cause.

This miscommunication did NOT make his ex wife very happy.

Not sure his current wife was all that enthused either.

Regarding the etymology of the word to which BB is referring, it is a common misconception that it is latin based. In fact it was adopted from the name of an Irish airline.

Speaking HPV vaccine, this thing is a hard sell. For the girls, at age 11 or so, the parent thinks the doc is crazy to bring it up.

For the boys they seem less worried about the implications (double standard) but the rationale for the vaccine is a bit more strained.

"It helps to prevent penile, oral and anal cancers". This is usually followed by several seconds of slack-jawed incomprehension...then an awkward recongition and averting of the eyes.

WJD SCTF's (including Kirisihima) north of Luzon seem to be headed NE. We could pursue with Wasp but we have ZERO intel on Formosa and no surfce recon past about 200 miles from northern Luzon. It doesnt seem prudent. I think I know how JJ deduced a possible landing at Laoag. One recon group have flown there 4 d in a row. I blame the stafff.

The main portion of 7th Aus turned tail and retreated to Lucena. I blame a staff flunkie for not pushing the "remain on station" button. They will head back North to Iba.

Yorktown just passed Brisbane heading North. 8th Aus Div is loading at Sydney and is prepped for Aparri.

A single DD is sent to raid Aparri tonight.

Lingayen now has a WJD unit in the hex. AS is up to 26 there. Not very much. We will try to land some tanks tonight and transport 503rd PIR from Iba by air.

Iba/Lingayen (the town not the airline): I reduced the number of fighters at Lingayen because it was threatened by land attack and reduced the fighters at Iba to put in C-47's to transfer 503rd PIR to Lingayn. This induced the Emperor's boys to attack. The Corsairs and USAAF planes are from Iba/Lingayen. The Wildcats and F6F's are from the carriers at least 80 miles away. I doubt they wre that much a factor. North Carolina takes 3 x 250 Kg eggs.

We were exploring the possibility of using Spanish language end of visit instruction sheets generated by our Electronic Medical Record (known by us as POS).

One problem is the special Spanish symbols like the "tilde" are not "enabled". This means for laymen "it doesn't work". This is dangerous in Spanish.

"ano" with no tilde = "anus"

"ano" with a tilde = "year"

So, if you try, around the holidays, to wish a patient a "prosperous year" after their hemorrhoid surgery it could be muy, muy, malo.
